Even though I love teaching yoga, there are a few things I wish I'd known before becoming a yoga teacher. Trust me, it's not all yoga leggings and namaste in savasana all day. This job is rewarding, but it's also a LOT of hard work.

It's funny how something that used to scare and intimadate me has turned out to be such a positive and life changing experience. Yoga Sculpt teacher training, I heart you. You have been my favorite out of all the trainings I've done so far! #yoga #YogaTeacher #YogaTeacherTraining #CorepowerYoga

Do you set an intention for yourself before each yoga class? I used to think the whole intention setting thing was a bit too “woo woo” for me until I discovered I had already been doing it without even realizing it. Setting an intention is a really important aspect of my own practice. Is it part of your yoga practice?

Last week I experienced a HUGE milestone in my yoga teaching career...I taught my first class! They say you never forget your first. I never thought teaching my first class would be so much fun and such a big learning experience. I can't wait to teach my next class!

I'm still pinching myself about this one. I can't believe The Mountaineers have publicly deemed my Instagram account inspiring and follow-worthy. Wow! Honored and grateful, but WOW!!

I survived my first week of Bikram Yoga Teacher Training at Sealevel Hot Yoga! Nine weeks of practicing seven days a week along with attending lectures, memorizing dialogue and practicing teaching all while working full time. No sweat - pun totally intended!

Here's how my first week went. Spoiler Alert: I am LOVING it!

Don't knock it until you try it my friends. Hiking solo has been the best thing I've done for myself since I took my first Bikram Yoga class over six years ago. #Truth

This year, I lead the entire group of 80+ ladies of all different ages at Girls Ride the Wake into a yoga sequence I put together just for them, tailored for a full weekend of wakeboarding in mind.

This whole experience reaffirmed my beliefs. Not only is teaching yoga fun, it’s also a whole lot of fun getting to teach yoga outside to a group of likeminded ladies. I can’t wait to do it again!

Hands down, one of the most physically and mentally grueling, yet rewarding and life changing experiences I've ever had in my life. Bikram Yoga helped me make it all the way on my own two feet. No mule ride for me!
