Aww! +Mr. Jingles got dressed up for +Google+'s second birthday. Give him a poke — or a click — when he appears above your Google+ notifications and he'll really get the party started.

Great way to show how something seemingly insignificant can make a great difference. Beautiful performance!

Imo the feather upsetting the balance was only one aspect of it. All the way down the sticks were stacked on alternate sides. Making it more unstable than if they'd been balanced on centres. It was the feather removal that made the first stick fall, from that point all the others had to fall as they were inherently unbalanced. I was surprised that the cheers and clapping didn't dislodge the feather though as it would have generated quite a draft.

This is one of the most impressive things I've seen. It just doesn't seem like it should even be possible... But it is.

Just wow.

(Thanks, +Ivan Lee, for the heads up!)

Happy bday G+! #googlepluslove

Thanks to you Google+ is 2

Two years ago we started the Google+ project. We're still young, with lots of growing left to do, but today we wanted to stop (for just a second) and say thanks. It's your support, your feedback, and your enthusiasm that make Google+ so awesome. So let's keep building something to love. Together.

Very excited for this launch!! Syncing notifications across devices and a beautiful new look and feel! Great job team :) Let us know what you think!

Notifications that sync across devices, and a new Android app

Starting today, Google+ notifications are much easier to use across mobile and desktop. In particular:

- When you read a notification on one device, we'll mark it as read on your other devices
- Likewise: dismissing a notification (with a swipe or a click) does so everywhere, so you can say goodbye to annoying repeats

We've also updated the look and feel of Google+ notifications, including:

- A new bell icon (in the Google Bar, and in the mobile apps) that lets you know if anything's waiting for you
- An updated notifications tray that separates unread from previously-read items

We're rolling out these notifications improvements gradually — first on Android and the web, then on iOS. In the meantime, we're also releasing a new Android app that incorporates a lot of your feedback. For example:

- You can now delete your photos from the Photos view
- Tapping into a post shows the number of +1's, comments and reshares
- The left-hand menu design is now more consistent with other Google apps

Visit Google Play for the Android update (v4.01, http://goo.gl/ruuHW), look for the new notifications icon over the next few days, and let us know what you think!

Introducing the Hangouts Capture app: snap & save moments as they happen

Google+ Hangouts bring people together, and when they do, all sorts of awesome can unfold. Maybe it's reading a bedtime story to your grandkids across the country. Maybe it's taking a cooking class from your kitchen. Or maybe it's answering questions from your constituents. We hear lots of great stories (http://goo.gl/ENWXo).

The challenge, oftentimes, is capturing your favorite moments as they happen, so today we're introducing the new Hangouts Capture app. With it you can take pictures of your Hangouts-in-progress, including a number of features not available in the usual screenshot workarounds:

- Once you’ve opened the Hangouts Capture app, you can snap photos of your Hangout view with a single click
- All photos are saved to a shared album, visible only to other Hangout invitees
- You can view these photos while inside the Hangout, when browsing your photo albums, or by visiting the original Hangout post
- And, importantly, you’ll always know when the app is in use: when you join a Hangout, when someone opens the app, and whenever a picture is taken

The Hangouts Capture app will soon be available worldwide, so look for it the next time you join a Hangout. Together with Effects, YouTube and other apps, we hope you’ll find Hangouts an even better way to make memories together.
