At least the desktop functions like a productive desktop and not a video game.  There is a reason why none of the enterprise-level Linux distributions feature GNOME 3.  But the improvements go beyond these features.

Support for Kodak's all-in-one devices (long overdue) is now possible through the latest version of SANE and a open source driver available at Sourceforge, of which a version for RHEL (as well as CentOS and Oracle Linux) is available for download!
PS: I didn't know they would pack MATE DE !!?? That's crazy! Why not Unity  :-P
