As a freelancing copywriter I was pretty confident about the writing and researching services I offered my clients, but I was less confident about my SEO knowledge.

Signing up to the Recipe for SEO Success eCourse for a recalibration was the best thing I've done for my business. I certainly got excellent bang for my buck, and can now confidently offer SEO knowledge and guidance to all my clients.

Kate is an exceptionally generous professional, loading her SEO students up with tips, tricks and templates and regularly checking in to see how we're all travelling via Facebook, Google hangouts and a one on one chat.

Quite simply, The Recipe for SEO Success eCourse will transform your digital life.

#SEO TIP:  Site Navigation. Google rewards sites that make it easy for users to find what they want, whether that’s information, a service or products.

It’s important to optimise your website navigation so pages are easily accessible.

The standard way to do this is to group your pages in a single, minimalist navigation bar with descriptive headings – your primary navigation.

You can then add lists of pages underneath in a drop down – your secondary navigation.

It’s also helpful to include a search bar in a consistent location and to interlink your content so no single page of your site is ever more than two or three clicks away.

Your goal should be getting your users to their (and hopefully your) ideal destination as quickly and easily as possible.

Here’s an old (but still relevant) post I wrote on the subject:

#‎SEO‬ TIP: While Google still has a site submission tool, it’s not necessary to submit new sites. Google does a great job of finding new content all on its own, as long as it has inbound links from other sites.
If it’s been more than a week and your site still isn’t being indexed, you likely have bigger problems that need to be addressed. Make sure you’ve set up a Google Webmaster account, and that it’s connected to your site. Once logged in, go to ‘Google Index’ and ‘Index Status’ to see whether your site has been indexed. If it hasn’t, check your GWT inbox to see if there are any warnings that may tell you why.

Not a dumb question at all. Yes it shows different info. More detail on bank links and more info around potential tech issues. Worth the minimal time it takes to set up. You can also link analytics and webmasters to give enhanced results

Great post!

How's the images on your website? Are they originals, unique to your business? Or did you get them from the "same as everyone else" bargain bin at the front of the store?

If you're using the latter (i.e. stock images that can also be found on sites across the web), you could be harming your business.

The +Visual Website Optimizer blog has an interesting case study you might want to read...
Haven't you always wondered what to use - stock image or real image? Read this in-depth analysis of the A/B test that gave a 161% rise in conversions.

I did a lot of research before choosing to go with Cabin Kits Galore. I liked that they were 100% upfront with pricing and clear about what was and wasn’t included. I liked that they responded within an hour of my request. And I liked their no-nonsense approach to invoicing and locking in an installation date. On the build day the guys had the cabin up and in tiptop condition in just under seven hours. They were friendly, polite, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. The cabin is awesome. It’s solid, finished to a high standard and beautiful to look at. I couldn’t be more happy and can’t stop recommending them to everyone I know (as well as complete strangers).

Chris from Umina Beach Electricians. Is a super star and our go to Electrician. Prompt, friendly, efficient and not a rip off merchant. He's fixed our electrics on more than one occasion, fitted a burglar alarm and also came out to fix an emergency within 10 minutes and didn't charge the earth. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This newly rennovated hotel is just awesome. Really close to Central, and a hop and a skip to all the Sydney attractions, Darling Harbour, Paddington, Surrey Hills etc. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Everything is spick and span, the staff are easy going and helpful. Also the price is so much more affordable that the big fat cat hotels. A perfect spot for a business trip, but I think I'll try out a family room with my clan soon as well.

I was in desperate need of some freelance coaching, someone to set me straight, someone to listen to my woes and give me a prod in the right direction. Sometimes you just need a serious (but gentle) kick up the bum – and that’s where Bek comes in Bek provides the perfect combination of straightforward, non nonsense honesty, combined with reassuring , huggy wuggy warmth. Like a sledgehammer wrapped in cotton wool. After just one hour I felt clearer, more positive and like someone had my back. The freelance life can be a lonely one – but with Bek on my side, I feel I have the guidance I need to make better, more confident choices. THANK YOU!

I recently used Agape to cater my SEO course in Sydney. They came highly recommended. I was super impressed by the quality of the food, delicious chill, dahl, pasta salads, nachos and the most amazing chocolate brownie known to man. All delivered on time and in cool little food warmers with recyclable packaging. Everyone loved the food! Thanks Agape I can't wait to book you for my next event.

Renegade Promotions aren't your run of the mill promotional product business. They go the extra mile, offering great ideas, doing all the research, presenting options, helping with design and delivery a top-notch product. I couldn't be happier with my gorgeous notepads and the awesome customer service that came with them. Highly recommended.
