My Book of the Week is The Exiles Return, by Elisabeth de Waal. Published posthumously with assistance from de Waal's grandson, Edmund (author of The Hare With Amber Eyes), this is a breathtaking novel that explores the expectations, triumphs and disappointments of holding onto the past while trying to move forward.
