15 different types of journals to keep
It doesn't matter that we're half way through the year, you can still start a journal or diary; you don't have to start them on 1st January. And keeping a journal doesn't have to be writing down your thoughts before bed, here are 15 different types of journals you can keep.

What type of journal or diary do you keep?

There is normally an outcry when a company wants to change something that has been around for along time.

I still just Opal Fruits instead of Starbursts and that changed happened many many years ago.

What product changes have you liked and disliked?

I'm learning what red wines I like by keeping a list of scores in a spreadsheet and using a pivot table to find the average scores by country and grape.

What red wines do you like?

23 ideas for the first page of your journal or notebook
It's fantastic having a new notebook, its so exciting to think of things you could write in it. That is until you turn to the first page; the first blank page. What do you do on the first page of your notebooks? Do you do anything special? If you feel stuck about what to write on the first page there are lots of ideas in my blog post.

I love seeing examples of Insta Life where people show what is outside the frame of a picture on Instagram (but then I think most of Lucy's life looks lovely, even the out of frame bits)

Do you style photographs? Do you think there is too much stage life on the internet?

I'm aware of styling, but it is certainly not a natural think for me to do (yet). I admit I move clutter and will try and find a blank background, but I don't bring in extra things. As styling is not natural to me it is not quick either so I focus on capturing a moment instead of worrying about the rest of the picture and potentially miss it.
When I started typing this post up I thought that perhaps I've given them the wrong titles, and that maybe "Behind the Scenes" would be better. Because the hint of sarcasm in the vs could lead you to believe that the photos you see lean more towards the fabricated than the fleeting moments that are captured at any given time. But there is always a story behind the finished story. For me styling photos is such a pleasure, creating a mini...

There isn't one topic that is doing really well in the poll so I don't know what everyone wants to discuss so I've picked one. Let's talk about blog / social media stats.

Do you like them? Do they help or distract you? What do you think are the most important / useful stats?

Yes it is. It's not just about where to find stats, it's more about how to use them to change things - so linking into the right social media and tasks to increase or decrease stats. I've only really done a bit on the first section for existing stuff, but have been using the information for newer posts. TBH though, you still need sharable content and things people need/want to make a dent, but if you want to target views then this is what'll work. Yours will likely do well with it, but most of it is like anything...time. If you've the time to do more than you already do, then it focuses you. If you've not got the time, then it's not going to help!

I've sort of let this group slide over the last six months, but I'm feeling all motivated to start improving my blog in 2016. I'm going to think about my priority areas and then I'll be back to vote in the poll.

Do you have areas you'd like to improve this year?
