I am beyond thrilled to be sharing with you a new series from +Enchanted Homeschooling Mom  called Kids in the Kitchen, where we "Embrace the Mess, Encourage Success, and Equip for Life"!

Each month the twins and I will walk you through a featured recipe, which will be available as a FREE printable. For this month’s series launch, I’m also including a fun GIVEAWAY!

For our first recipe I share a treasured family recipe, my 94-year old Grandma’s Buttermilk Pancakes. The twins and I take you step-by-step on making the perfect, delicious, golden, yummy pancake. I’ve included a FREE printable download of the recipe for you to add to your own recipe book.

As I mentioned earlier, I am also including a fun GIVEAWAY to launch the series. My mom is a very talented seamstress and made the twins adorable aprons, with custom embroidery by a dear family friend. I’m thrilled to be able to offer one of these personalized aprons for your own budding chef!

Please head on over to Enchanted Homeschooling Mom and enjoy this month’s edition of Kids in the Kitchen! I’m so excited to have you join us on this journey!!

I am so in love with +Ashley LifeWithMooreBabies  Little House on the Prairie party ideas!!! I was a HUGE Little House on the Prairie fan growing up and had the pleasure a couple of months ago reading Farmer Boy with the twins.

There are so many unique and fun ideas to help bring this classic book series to life. While she did all of this as an awesome birthday party, I could see using several of the ideas as part of a Book Club co-op when reading any of the Little House books.

I absolutely LOVE this Family Book Club idea shared by +Growing Book by Book !!! Each month, Growing Book by Book partners with +AdventureInABox and +Daisy At Home to share fun ideas for bringing a specific book of the month to bring to life. They include conversation starters about the book for great family discussion, fun themed art & craft ideas to decorate the table with, and a special menu to compliment the book. I'm a HUGE fan of bringing books to life for kids, and I'm thrilled to see the added thought that went into making this a FAMILY adventure. This month is based on the book Pippi Longstocking and I can't wait to see future month book themes!!!

Back in 2009, my good friend +Susan F Williams and I were trying to figure out a way to get our young boys interested in reading. We wanted to expose them to classic literature and instill a love of reading for life. Big aspirations, right? Those conversations gave birth to one of our all-time favorite and longest standing co-ops, Book Club.

As we discussed ideas, we realized it was important to do whatever we could to help bring the books to life for our wiggly, hands-on learners. Our biggest hook has been to include yummy food that tied in with the theme of the book.

Today I'm sharing with you my tips on how we've brought classic literature to life by learning with food! Yum-yum :-)

I'm a big believer in hands-on learning and making learning fun. Some of our favorite learning moments have been during out Book Club co-op and Science co-op. We've had many themed parties with our co-op friends (one of my all-time favorites: http://wp.me/p4cay1-3y), but never thought to have a Science themed one ... that is until now! +Pam Barnhill  of Everyday Snapshots shared an AMAZING looking Science Party. They had lots of cool science-themed food and each family demonstrated a favorite science experiment (and shared the book they used to learn the experiment)! I know my boys would LOVE to have a science party, ahem "Mad Scientist Convention" like this ;-)
