Great light in Zion, enjoy!
"Eternal Light"

I can't help myself to think of some nice cool weather right now.  Hope everyone out there is doing well.  Its been a great start to the monsoons season down here in the SW.  Lots of drama in the skies these days.  I love it.  I can't wait to get back out.  Anyway.....I made this image last winter on a last minute invite to travel into The Narrows in Zion National Park with a few friends of mine.  There was a recent snow storm about a week prior to this image.  I was hoping there would be some snow left in the canyon, and as I wished...there it was.  The sandstone walls covered with snow and ice in certain areas.  It was on of the most incredible scenes I've been able to capture.  Hope you enjoy the image.  Peace and Love.

Horseshoe Bend : The Intimate Grand Canyon Experience!

And now the Huffington Post also thinks the same: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/07/western-national-parks_n_5233496.html

It's an amazing viewpoint that has only been available to the public just over 10 years now...and, wow, how it's popularity has grown!

Come check it out: http://www.horseshoebend.com

An awe-inspiring view of Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona. Even when it's overcast, it's a magnificent view. To see the full-size image, click the link below:

Carlos is amazing. He carried Beatrice down to Phantom Ranch for a 5pm dinner...which I have tried to setup several times...UN-successfully. I congratulate him!
Kristine and I carried Beatrice down and up the Grand Canyon on Monday and Tuesday :-) In each direction my fitbit said it was ~36,000 steps and ~500 flights of stairs. The GPS said it was ~18km each way. It took us 8 hours to get down to Phantom Ranch and 9 hours to get back up. We took plenty of stops and enjoyed the views. The way down was the hardest, particularly because we had booked a 5pm steak dinner at the ranch so we had to keep a certain minimum pace (tracked by GPS) to make it on time.

+Gary Cain is giving Grand Canyon that late 1800/early 1900 Kolb Brother's look and feel. It's good to remember that the majority of visitor's who visit the Grand Canyon...have done so in the last 100 years or so. Thanks for sharing.
Grand Canyon in Sepia
Arizona, USA
Photographed from the south rim on a late afternoon in April, 1995.

If ever a scene cried out to be rendered in antique-look sepia, this is it. I've just digitally converted my old color slide to black and white, added sepia toning, texture, and altered the contrast. These alterations give it an 1800s-era historic look and feel.

Museum-quality prints, posters, and postcards are available online (without the logo). http://bit.ly/1laPX7z

The Grand Canyon Skywalk is the newest and unique experience that is closest to Las Vegas. Many people are amazed that the glass provides a see through look right to the bottom of the canyon. I remember walking on the Skywalk back in March of 2007. Next time you are in town, come check it out: http://grandcanyon.com/grand-voyager-skywalk-tour.html

Raise The River - OR - Move The Ocean
This is hysterical...and, also TRUE, at the same time! Lake Powell is currently at 3,575 feet above Sea Level. Just under 40% of it's capacity. http://lakepowell.water-data.com/ Lake Powell is the WATER BANK that guarantee's the Lower Basin it's annual allocation of water each year from the original Colorado River Compact back in 1922. However, and for those of us who live here, Lake Powell is scheduled to only release 7.43 Million Acre Feet in 2014 instead of the 8.23 Million Acre Feet it has been releasing in years past.
What do you think?

It's always good to get to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. One of the easiest and unique ways to get there is by Helicopter. And it looks like Spring is coming on. I can't wait to get to the bottom again!
Interested in landing at the bottom of the #GrandCanyon right by the #ColoradoRiver? Now’s your chance! #IFlyPapillon

I think this is a great Spring Break idea...I just hope the 5 mile trip to it won't get in my way. Sometimes destinations that are so close get skipped for those that are far away.
