I did a fun interview with Suzanne Axtell at O'Reilly Media a little while ago about the Reading Glove, interaction design, Steampunk and the Maker Movement...and now it's up!
What if you mashed up a non-linear narrative, a tangible computing environment and a hint of a haunted house experience? You might get the Reading Glove, a novel way to experience a story.

I highly recommend this conference to women in computing or computing-adjacent fields. I had a great experience there last year-very informative, very inspiring, very fun.

Well, I haven't signed the contract yet, but they gave me an email address and put me on the website, so I think I can officially announce that I am teaching as Sessional Faculty at Emily Carr University of Art + Design this Fall!

Thanks to the recent Vancouver Mini Maker Faire, we were contacted by local news show The Express Vancouver to do a piece on our steampunk props, costumes, and characters. Here's the result.... (our bit starts at 5:45, if the link doesn't automatically take you there)

Introduction
I recently finished my PhD in adaptive and ubiquitous technology design at the School of Interactive Arts & Technology. I am a researcher at the Center for Games & Playable Media at UC-Santa Cruz. I make films, props, costumes, and jewelry. I love to program (Processing, Python, JESS, Java) and to teach myself new skills.  I read constantly, most often science fiction and fantasy.
