Hi all - our apologies that this cut out. We did complete the full hour Q&A only to find that part of it didn't air! We are hoping to be able to retrieve the full audio recording to make available but will only know whether this is possible in the next day or so. If necessary we will re-record our answers to the questions that somehow got lost - we will keep you updated.

Well said, Mick. This feels such a pity. I do understand the dilemma of where to draw the line but, as you point out, the proposition for this prize appear to conflict directly with its entry rules. Not to mention the fact that it then appears (naively, I assume ) to break those same rules...

Wow! Eeek! The Runaway Alien is currently ranked top of the UK Kindle charts for Children's eBooks on Sports & Outdoors > #Football. A fast and fun read for age 7-10 years, with black & white illustrations throughout. Singled out as a great book for boys and reluctant readers. However girls love it too - and with good reason :)

Children's fiction writer. Copywriter and web content strategist
Basic Information
Writer of children's fiction. Copywriter and web content consultant through my company, Well Said Ltd.
I've worked as a copywriter and web content consultant for almost 20 years, latterly on major UK government projects. My website at says it all!

I also write children's fiction. I self-published The Secret Lake in September 2011 and my second book Eeek! (about a soccer-mad runaway alien...) in March 2012.  You'll find my books on most major online store websites including Amazon,  B&N and Waterstones... both have been very well received :)

Digital publishing and social networking have opened up a whole new world of opportunities for authors to get their work out to the wider world and I'm really excited to be taking part in that change!
