Has anyone used the "Add new services" feature in Files? It magically appeared a few days ago when I installed a system update. This morning I tried it for the first time, but the applications available aren't created by Google. Most (including the Dropbox service I was going to add) are from a Japanese provider, www.eisbahn.jp/yoichiro.

Have you tried them? are they legit?

+Stephen Gale Thanks for the info. I did not know the name and was, naturally, cautious about installing something--especially if I'm giving the app access to my files. I will look into it a little further and probably try out at least one of the apps.

So far one of the biggest benefits of doing a major system upgrade on my tablet is this cool new photo editing app that came along for the ride. I've been fiddling with it and getting some lovely effects.

A friend once told me that if the Three Wise Men had instead been Three Wise Women, they would have brought swaddling clothes and blankets for the infant Jesus and a pot of tea for Mary. Much more practical than gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Not so grrreat?

Check out the latest video for our Behind the Brands campaign, in which Tony the Tiger and the Pillsbury Doughboy suddenly realize their companies, Kellogg and General Mills, are not doing enough in their everyday operations to limit the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change.

#BehindTheBrands #Climate
Sudden realization that Kellogg is not so great on climate change moves corporate cartoon character to existential crisis.

A few times a year I get an e-mail in my spam folder that purports to be from a young woman (maybe very young?) looking for a man. I always report them to the general spam@uce.gov e-mail address (as I report most spam), but I'm wondering if there is any group, government or private, that tracks these kinds of messages. I don't necessarily expect that this particular message will be followed up on, but perhaps someone is collecting such messages in a database and tracking them generally.

Does anyone know? Either a Web form or an e-mail address for reporting would be appreciated.

Revisiting an old blog post for #BlogActionDay and #WorldFoodDay.

I'm helping out at an +Oxfam America  Hunger Banquet today, the first time since I attended the one described in this post. (Spoiler alert: If you've never been to a #HungerBanquet, you might want to be surprised the first time.)
Last week I attended a "Hunger Banquet" sponsored by Oxfam America. In my role as a citizen of the world and occasional do-gooder, I've come to enjoy programs at the Action Center to End World Hung...

Ask a Question about Google+  -

Is there a way to disable animated GIFs in Google+? Or, for that matter, on all sites (using Chrome browser on a Chromebook)? I find them horribly annoying, but there are some good people I follow who occasionally share one.

The ideal method would automatically disable animation on all GIFs and display a still image. I don't need the ability to turn off the blocking.

Thanks, +Torsten Dreier but I've seen this and none of those apps do exactly what I want. The first requires that I manually stop the animation; the others allow the animation to start, albeit briefly, before being stopped. Furthermore, all could be accidentally reversed by clicking <ESC>.
