Brings Life to Websites
Introduction
I started Adventures Online in 1997 after having worked in consulting firms, shrink-wrapped business software and insurance software development firms, and on internal, lights-out production software (alpha chip) at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Initially, website design and development were the offerings. Domain names and hosting were added shortly after, and in 2004 I installed my first WordPress blog.

Since then, it has been a love-hate relationship with WordPress. Mostly, love....LOVE the base product, the plugins and widgets, and the power that WordPress provides bloggers to influence their rank with the search engines. Hate the heaviness of the backend they've been building in to make it a true CMS.

Nothing has stopped me from using the product though. I have installed and customized over 70 WordPress blogs, and nowadays, I build most websites on the WordPress platform unless there is a good reason not to. Even wrote a kindle book for WordPress power bloggers.

I'll continue using the product, training clients on how to use it and how to add search engine optimization to their blogs, and writing custom functions for other clients.

And on the straight website development side... grateful for HTML5, CSS3, Ajax, jQuery, PHP and MySQL for making it easier to develop more robust websites that provide richer visitor experiences.

Been happily meeting here for over 25 years with friends. Sadly, no more. They've killed our experience. Ridiculous use of space. Lots of standing around for wait staff. Too much emphasis on alcohol for kids to be around. Possible discrimination against seniors..Once identified as seniors ($1.00 off ticket price), we only had an option of 4 seats - all in the front row. We questioned the ticket sales kid telling him we wanted to sit further back and he told use the other seats were not available. Once the movie started, there were at least 14 seats available, so, I do not believe that they were all sold and the purchasers didn't show up. It is reasonable to assume that they were available - just not to seniors - who paid a reduced price. The other 2 seats in the front row were filled with seniors. And what's up with the new pricing? $9.49, $8.49, $11.29, $10.29... where is that extra penny going? AMC isn't claiming it in sales & most people do not want it in change. Are the ticket people pocketing it? Leaving it for AMC? How much does that accumulate to in a week? month? year?

No stars. The WORST Customer service in the WORLD. They blew me out of the water with my modem the other day. EIGHT phone calls to get Internet access. Forced me to install their new modem. Two days later, I still cannot print and my computers don't talk to each other. I'm on my second call for today. Been told that the new modem they sent me will not work with my router. I have to disconnect everything and bring the router to my local Comcast. Can't get the phone number of that location to validate that they have the type of modem I need. Okay - found out that New Hampshire has the modem I need. They are mailing it to me. I don't work for Comcast. I PAY them to provide me with a service. I resent them changing my configuration to fit their needs - and making everything that I have spent time and money on NOT communicate - AND - making me lose communications for days.

Love Al Brodeur's South Street Auto! Had my 10 yo auto detailed there this week. It looks like I had the car painted. All the dents, shopping cart dings, tree branch scratches and miscellaneous scars have disappeared and been replaced with a smooth, rich and sparkling finish. It shines like black glass. Hat off to the expert auto detailers who converted my weary auto into a beautiful showpiece. Service before, after, and during was excellent as well! If you are in the MetroWest MA area, I highly recommend hiring Al Brodeur's South Street Auto as your auto detailer.

Finally, a cafe where you can hang out and hear yourself think! Cafe 641 is new to Hudson, MA. Been there approx. 2 months. I visited for the first time over the 2013 July 4th weekend. It was extremely hot in Massachusetts that weekend. Different sections had different levels of A/C. You had your choice of blasting cold, medium A/C, and warm areas. Front entrance has a screen door; atmospheric and warmer in that area. Bookcase against the wall with books for reading while you're relaxing. Food - Mostly sandwiches & crepes. Some pastries and soups. Affordable. I paid $6.00 for a breakfast crepe with cheese, onions, meat, eggs. Crepe was generously filled. Sandwiches were ~ $6.95. Coffee - Selections closer to Starbucks than Dunkin Donuts. I had a grande Cappuccino in a mug for $3.58. Tasty. Seating: You get a good choice of bellying up to the bar (wall), or comfy over-sized living room style chairs, or straight-backed chairs and tables, or more bar stools in the street windows. Plenty of electrical hookups spread around the cafe. Best of all for me, the music was background music. Atmospheric without being overwhelming. (I tend to spend a couple to several hours while working on projects on my laptop.) This background music was just right for working. Servers: Friendly, polite, in the background for the most part. I will return to Cafe 641.

Dined here 3-22-2014...Saturday night Wait quoted was 20 minutes. Wait was just about 20 minutes. Loud at first, then quieted down. Fresh bread with oil, hots, and Parmesan cheese brought to the table. Bread was FRESH! Service by Erica - Very good. Attentive without being overly attentive. Thai Chicken Lettuce wraps - OUTSTANDING - exact amount proportionately of ingredients, clean wraps with not too much drippage. Nice crunch with peanuts and veggies. Poached Pear Spinach Salad - Tasty.

The local Chamber of Commerce referred me to this fresh, modern, super clean shop on Cottage Street in downtown Bar Harbor. Echo Salon specializes in color and bridal. The shop was abuzz styling nails and hair for a wedding. I was a walk in for a double-process color, dry, & style, late morning on Friday Oct. 11, 2013. The decor is simple and uncluttered. The service is first class! The results are eye-catching... I have received many compliments on my hair and no one has quite put his/her finger on what I had done. For me, that's a sign of great work. Don't be misled by the easy, friendly personalities. This shop is seriously professional. Although I was a walk-in, I was treated with the warmth of being a long-time regular. The receptionist was friendly and professional. She hung up my coat, offered magazines to read, and brought me water. Alyssa, my stylist, was very friendly, professional with a great personality and spirit. She studied my hair type and color. Listened to what I wanted. Asked questions, made suggestions, and consulted with other stylists. Throughout the coloring and drying, she periodically checked in with me to make sure I was happy. My hair came out with the color I wanted and a beautiful healthy shine. (Echo Salon uses an organic product line.) The owner, Jefferson has a great spirit and friendly personality. He joined in the conversation, shared his suggestions, and made me feel welcomed. I consider myself lucky to have experienced Echo Salon that Friday, and I highly recommend that you schedule your appointment today!
