Improved administration pages

The administration pages have been redesigned. You will hopefully find an improved user experience and better performance.

The goal was to make the administration interface cleaner and require fewer clicks to perform common tasks. The previous design could easily become cluttered if you had many boards.

The current board is now shown at the top of the administration menu, since you often want to make administrative changes to the board that you are currently viewing.

We have not removed any functionality. If you have trouble locating a feature with the new design, please send a mail to support@kanbanflow.com and we will guide you.

Forecasting instead of estimating

Are you spending a lot of time on doing estimates? Now you can use the Forecasting report to predict when your tasks will be completed without estimates.

The forecasting report analyzes historical data and assumes that future work will follow a similar trend. The forecasts can often be just as accurate as estimates, while giving you more time to get actual work done.

To show the report, click on "Reports" in the bottom toolbar. Then click on "Forecasting". This is a premium feature.

Cycle & Lead time chart

The Cycle & Lead time chart shows how long time it has taken for tasks to move between different columns on your board. You can use it to see if you become faster or slower at delivering value to your customers.

We have recently added a moving average trend-line to the chart. This gives you a smoother line and will make it easier to draw conclusions from your data.

We have also added a User filter. So you are now able to track the lead times for specific members of your team.

If you have many tasks on your board, you will notice a significant performance improvement. You can now look at multiple years of data without experiencing a long loading time.

To show the report, click on "Reports" in the bottom toolbar. Then click on "Cycle & Lead time". This is a premium feature.

Mass update tasks

Sometimes you might want to rename a label or remove it from all tasks where it is used. Or you want to set responsible, set color or delete tasks based on a filter criteria.

With the mass update tasks feature, all these things are now simple to do even for 100s of tasks.

You will be guided through a short process of selecting the tasks and the action that you want to apply to them. To prevent mistakes, you will see a preview of the updates before deciding to apply them.

To start a mass update, click on the icon with 3 lines in the bottom toolbar. Then click on "Mass update".

This is a premium feature. You need to be either "Board owner" or "Board administrator" to access it.

Forecasting Planning Mode

Forecasting can be used to quickly get a pretty good idea of when your tasks will be done without doing regular estimates. In the planning mode you can re-prioritize your tasks and see how it affects the forecast in real-time.

The forecasted dates are displayed at the bottom of each task. It assumes that tasks are prioritized from top to bottom within a column.

To use the planning mode, click on "Reports" in the bottom toolbar. Then click on "Forecasting". Finally, click on "Enter planning mode" in the bottom right corner of the report. This is a premium feature.

Add a task directly between two other tasks

If you want to add a new task between two other tasks in a column, simply double-click between them and the new task will be added there.

You can also double-click at the top or bottom of the column, to add the task at that position instead.

Lean project management, simplified
Introduction
The Kanban board gives you an excellent overview of your current work situation.

When working in a team of people you can instantly see what other people are working on right now, what has been done and what is coming up.

KanbanFlow can be used as a Lean project management tool for you and your team. Its intuitive user interface will get you up and running in a few minutes.

You can optionally track the time you are working on a task by using a timer.

The timer supports the popular Pomodoro technique for time management. The Pomodoro technique recommends working with full focus for 25 minutes before taking a short break. Then work another 25 minutes followed by another break. And so on.
