Another great milestone for the +Mentor Embedded team and the partnership with +AMD Embedded with this announcement of commercial versions of Mentor Embedded Linux and Sourcery CodeBench development tools for AMD Embedded G-Series and R-Series devices.
Today we announced the availability of commercially-supported Mentor Embedded Linux software for +AMD G-Series and R-Series based devices.

Developers who began evaluation, prototyping, and development by downloading the previously announced and freely available Mentor Embedded Linux (MEL) Lite and Sourcery™ CodeBench (SCB) Lite products can now easily migrate to these new commercially-supported versions to create dynamic applications targeting markets such as digital gaming, point-of-sale, and electronic signage/displays.

+Andrew Caples and I were both on a panel (Google+) hangout on security for IoT and there where quite a few interesting questions on how to address security needs and requirements for connected devices. Looking forward to hearing about more needs and requirements from people and the latest trends at this conference next week.
Our team will be at the Internet of Things Developer Conference in Santa Clara next week to discuss your needs including security, connectivity, memory footprint, and low power consumption. If you're attending or in the area drop by and say hi to +Andrew Caples, +Shay Benchorin and +Kamran Shah.

This has been the year of video interviews for me. The +Freescale  #FTF2014  show last week was great to attend, lots of interesting conversations and a nice way to catch up with people from +Mentor Embedded I don't get to interact with often enough working from home.
A summary of three challenges facing the Internet of Things: Power Consumption, Reliable Execution and Security.
