Happy Earth Day!  The Kahala hotel pumps deep seawater from wells to supply cooling for our chiller systems. The return seawater flow over a decorative waterfall to dissipate heat and absorb oxygen.  The hotel estimates an annually savings of 380,000/kwh of electricity and 4,500,000 gallons of water.  The hotel was granted a Green Business Certification by DBEDT’s Green Business Program in 2012. My son, Blake is 13 has Spinal Bifida but can walk with the aid of a walker and loves to swim. Blake had one thing he wanted to do during his visit…swim with the Dolphins. We were told to go to Sea Life Park…and to our shock…Sea Life denied Blake access and told he could not swim with their Dolphins…Blake was crushed. After some research, we found Kahala Hotel and Resort and their Dolphin team absolutely embraced Blake...and invited my wife to swim with Blake for free… It was awesome! There is no comparison...Kahala Resort is first class...has a beautiful facility, setting and staff.

Had the pleasure of staying at the resort for 5 days this February, overall it was a great experience. However I did not find the cleanliness of the rooms to be on par with the expectation of a 5 star resort. Aside from that I did would go back to it, however the rooms could use a bit of upgrading due to wear and tear. The location is great with a wonderful beach.

Possibly one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at in our life (my wife and I both agree). Pristine location, beautiful beach, nice amenities, there's really not many bad things you can say about this place. The friendly and courteous staff was always willing to assist and provided excellent service. The choice of several restaurants within the hotel area made it possible to enjoy superb dining night after night. Absolutely the best dinner however was our candlelight dinner on the balcony of the hotel room. Is is too early to say we are already planning on returning?

Rooms and bathrooms a bit dated (carpet could really use a refresh, what's up with the bathroom of mirrors) but has excellent beach, comfortable seating at pool and beach, and attentive service. Can't beat the view of dolphins frolicking about. Might think about stepping it up a notch on the drinks since a few places in Waikiki have better mai tais (no little umbrellas here, boo). Shuttle to Waikiki fairly convenient though can get booked up. Nice for those of us who want to avoid the party crowds. Package with breakfast buffet is a must or you'll be stuck paying way too much. Dining options are pricey since you're captive - get the ahi burger at Plumeria - at $18, it's pricey but that's to be expected.
