If you’re a perpetual red drinker, viognier might be the white wine to change the crimson tide. “It’s the red man’s white drink is what I like to call it. Because it’s just a bit more robust of a white wine,” says Stephen Dew, one of our winemakers and is a major fan of the grape.

Producing 1600 magnums annually, all proceeds from the sale of Concordis will go to a perpetual education fund through Foundation Barossa, which will then provide ongoing financial support and training opportunities in cellar operations and viticulture for financially disadvantaged, local youth.

It started with four winemakers who weren’t native to the Barossa Valley. Each individually successful thanks to the generous soil and generosity of the local community. These winemakers wanted to show their deep appreciation to the people, place, and industry by giving something back – with a charity wine that supports young would-be winemakers in the Barossa.

The particulars:
*Cellar Door - Open 7 days a week 11 am - 5 pm
*Old Vine Guided Vineyard Tour - 11.30am daily.
*B&B Accommodation - 3 separate cottage style accommodation.

Water is a finite and precious resource and one that we can’t take for granted in South Australia. We’re famously the driest state on the driest inhabited continent on Earth. At Kaesler Wines in South Australia's premier wine growing region – Barossa Valley – we take this very seriously indeed. And with almost all things wine related, it starts with the soil.

Concordis is a collaborative winemaking project between Kaesler Wines, @Seppeltsfield, @TorbreckBarossa, and @TwoHandsWines to combine one tonne of our finest Shiraz grapes each year to create a unique cuvée. Only 1,600 magnums of Concordis are made each vintage with all proceeds funding youth training and employment through @FoundationBarossa.

Meet Nigel van der Zande, our vineyard manager, who believes that a deep sense of connection and understanding to the land, soil, and micro-ecosystem is the starting point. “We start with the dirt,” Nigel aka Nature Boy, agrees, running his hand through the healthy vines. “That’s the most important aspect. We are forever trying to figure out how to get the best out of the dirt and into our grapes.”
