Sir Terry Pratchett's enduring legacy is a world at the very furthest edge of probability, where the impossible is common place and million-to-one chances come through nine times in ten. Yet nothing on the Discworld is as preposterous as a Roundworld without his matchless wit and insight.

The older I get, the more challenging it is to break out of the feedback loop between tired and grouchy.

I like how you can tell who's a main character or not based on whether their text messages are important enough for the audience to read.

I think I need to find some sort of phase to go through. "Quietly competent" just doesn't grab headlines.

Created foundational food preparation resource by utilizing externally-sourced thermal energy to increase molecular agitation dynamics of available aqueous assets.

(This is exactly as much effort as I can muster when I'm #cooking  for myself.)

I have yet to find the proper mix of humility and bombast necessary to write a really compelling biographical blurb.
Introduction
I'm the creator of Résumé Speak, a Tumblr that translates every day tasks into the tortured jargon of the modern American résumé. I'm the Development and Operations Manager at One Iowa in Des Moines. I'm a 2013 Leadership Institute Fellow with New Leaders Council - Des Moines, and I serve on their board as Communications Co-Chair. I'm the host/producer of the OMGDSM podcast, and I'm also an editor with the radio show and podcast Science for the People.

I've recently been a judicial policy researcher, recovering attorney, humanist, long-distance father, science enthusiast and aspiring critical thinker. I'm usually not afraid to admit when I'm wrong, but I try extremely hard not to be.

All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. They are not intended to represent the views of any entity or organization with which I'm affiliated.
