New feature in KDE Plasma: Control and monitor your browser using desktop-integrated controls.

If you have music playing in a minimised browser window, you can pause it, start it again, and mute it. You can also monitor downloads from the notification area or find open tabs in your browser from the "Run Command" integrated utility.
These features should appear as standard in Plasma 5.13, but you can already try them out with neon git unstable by installing the plasma-browser-integration package.
For now it works with chrome and chromium, but in the future it should work with Firefox too

Kubuntu 17.10 released
It is probably on of the best Kubuntu releases ever.
Rock solid Plasma 5.10.5, full support for multimedia codecs, out of box. VLC is now default video player and Cantata is now included instead of Amarok. Driver manager (yes I am looking at you Neon) for easy driver installing. Really nice release with all apps you need for everyday use.

Plasma 5.9 released

This is one of the biggest releases ever (feature wise). My favorite is of course new Look &Feel Theme capabilities. That would not be possible without hard work of +Marco Martin and +Aleix Pol. So big kudos to them :)

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
Normally I do not comment on other desktop environments but I think this is pretty interesting. Long story short, upcoming Linux Mint/Cinnamon will have a redesigned menus similar to the ones in Plasma 5.
When we worked on Plasma 5 for the KDE edition of Linux Mint 18 we were impressed by how polished their menus looked. So we decided to redesign our menus, get rid of box pointers and re-implement the way menus appear in Cinnamon.
