Very basic application, but the possibilities are intriguing. Could wiring sensors into our brains really be as simple as plugging one in and letting the brain figure it out?

It's a trap! It gives drivers a reason to hand their unlocked phones over to cops. This is really bad for privacy.

The Iowa Department of Transportation has outlined a plan to launch a mobile app that will serve as a digital driver’s license. The app, which is scheduled to arrive in 2015, will allow drivers to ...

Frink is awesome for when you need to know how deep a pool you could make in your bedroom... and how much alcohol it would contain if you filled it with beer.
A practical calculating tool, unit conversion utility, and programming language designed to make physical calculations simple. It tracks units of measure (feet, meters, kilograms, watts, etc.) through all calculations, and helps ensure that answers are correct.

So... I'm paying extra to get the biggest pipe I can afford, but I can't drink all I want until the reservoir operator pays the local water company to increase the capacity of the water main??? Can someone explain that to me?

We've been sold out! After all of the claims that the NSA would be reformed, following the release of information by Edward Snowden, the first major action to be taken by Congress on the issue is to allow unlimited collection of any electronic communications and retention of what's collected for at least 5 years without any need for a warrant or court order. Oh, and if your communication happen to be encrypted they can be retained forever!

This has already passed. There's no calling or emailing your representative telling them to vote against it. It's done! In the typical, cowardly fashion things like this are done by Congress, it passed quickly and while no one was paying attention. Only a valiant, but ultimately futile, effort by Rep Justin Amash forced the members of the House to record their votes. The Senate, as they often do, allowed it to pass by "unanimous consent" which neatly keeps the blood off of any individual Senator's hands.

If you didn't assume it already, from this moment on you must assume that every single bit of data you generate (phone calls, emails, texts, private messages of any kind, bank records, medical information...anything and everything digital) will be captured and stored indefinitely.

Merry Christmas and welcome to Landing Strip 1.

It's bad enough having to call to talk to a real person; but, being pestered by the recording on hold to use the website instead, after having wasted 20 minutes trying find a function that doesn't exist. That just pisses me off. Not calling out any company in particular, because it seems to happen every time I'm forced to resort to human contact.
