Google TV Discussion  -

Looking for some help

I have a nsx-40gt1 and the remote, after being dropped repeatedly by kids, has finally bit the dust. While I am able to use the Google TV app on a spare phone I would like a physical remote. The TV's remote online is now ridiculously expensive. Are there any good universal remotes that will provide all the functionality of the original that aren't over-priced, or of production units? Not too worried about keyboard functionality.

I can get by with the phone (not ideal) but I understand if my network changes I won't be able to set up the TV on the new network because the phone is no longer paired.

Any advice? Do the Logitech Harmony's work?

Thanks!

Search Rant

Comparison of +Yahoo and +Google Search for a download of Adobe PDF - Yahoo sneaks in these awful ads with absolutely no distinction while on the right the correct link is at the top. Can't stand now defaults to crappy Yahoo. Hell, even Bing pulled up better results when I tested it.

In case you have yet to read this, +The New Yorker opened up the August 31, 1946 article that chronicles the stories of a few of the survivors of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. An amazing read.

So tempting...so tempting. I haven't had a Samsung device is quite a while but this is very intriguing. . .
Orders for Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge begin March 27, and here is where you can get them. Samsung's newest flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, pre-orders are beginning in the US on March 27. Following Samsung's announcement of availability, which starts in stores on April 10, carriers have begun releasing pricing details. If you are looking to get your...

Droid is only for Motorola devices on Verizon. Sorry you had such a bad experience ... For me just the opposite. Though I've never owned a Droid, just Nexus and HTC.

Moonlit Lightning

There was a fantastic thunderstorm off the coast last night and managed to capture this with a 20 second exposure.

Terribly disappointed. I ordered flowers for a friend having surgery and the flowers never arrived. I was told they would be delivered that same day. Unfortunately, they did not attempt delivery until the next day - when she was out of the hospital. While everyone I spoke with on the phone was very polite I cannot give any more than 1 star because they failed to meet their promise of delivering the same day. Ended up canceling my order and went with another florist. They will not receive my business again.

I wasn't expecting too much but I was incredibly impressed by the Brevard Zoo. First, this is the least expensive zoo I can remember. One might think this means the quality will be lower. Quite the opposite. The range of animals is impressive but the best part of the entire zoo - you are so close to the animals. From feeding the giraffes to birds landing on you to getting wet from the beavers flopping around - you are in the action. You can tour the whole zoo portion in half a day easily and if you have small children there is a water area (part of the zoo) where they can cool off. Just make sure to bring their bathing suits!

When you enter Meg O'Malley's you start to get the sense of being in an Irish pub. Dark wood and lots of ale paraphernalia. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed when she sat us, she might have been new. I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat - the menu is impressive with all the Irish staples. I decided on the Kilkenney, probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long, long time. I added a side of Tater Tots which were perfect. From the salads to the kids meals, everyone left the restaurant full and happy. One complaint - the booth they sat us at had a 2 top right next to it where one person at the 2 top would have their back right next to your side. It was weird. Definitely will go back again and again.

Not worth my money. Sushi was bland, hibachi was bland, service was OK at least. The tempura vegetable was really good.

Talk about a beer selection - you've hit the jackpot here if you are in Melbourne. Just a great list of draught beers to select from. We didn't go here for the beer, that was just icing on the cake. You may expect typical bar food when you walk in but this place seems to be more of a gastropub which a menu for everyone. Had the Beef on Weck which was great and would highly recommend it. There were so many items on the menu I wanted to try but that will have to wait for the next visit. Staff was friendly. It got really busy while we were there and it seemed they were stretched a bit thin but nothing too bad. Definitely worth going back.

We've been going here for a while, the menu hasn't changed and the staff is the same. These are good things! Staff is super friendly and the food is good. This is a perfect place is you're in the mood for some no fuss, tasty bar food. I'm particular to the Italian Beef sandwich. The dressing they give for the waffle fries is great too. Good place to grab a few beers with friends or lunch/dinner with the family.

We go here every year we visit...not for the food but the atmosphere. The food is only so so. Fish is usually overcooked or mushy and the sauces are bland. I have tried the fish platter (it was fried so not bad but still rather bland), Mahi Mahi was overcooked, calamari was very good, fish and chips were good, and the beer is good. We will still go again but not for the food; the atmosphere is what we like.
