A flock of birds happened to fly by overhead as I took this #Sunrise  shot from the parking lot of a department store.

An #HDR  photo of a cold winter morning #Sunrise  on a county road near my house. I made this using three bracketed exposures with Photomatix Essentials. I'm not typically one to use heavy HDR but I thought I'd give it a try for this one.

30-second exposure of the night sky behind my house. Please ignore the unsightly propane tank. (I suppose I could have photoshopped that out.)

This photo was taken at Kitch-iti-kipi, the largest natural freshwater spring in Michigan, called "The Mirror of Heaven" by early Native Americans. The 40 foot deep water is so clear that you can easily see straight down to the bottom. In this photo you can just make out the shapes of some of the fish that inhabit the spring.

I've been to Coco's several times, the last two times for their Friday fish fry. Let me first say that they have one of the best fish fry's I've experienced. But while their food can be very good, the service leaves quite a bit to be desired. The wait time for food can be quite excessive, given that the times I've been there it was not very busy. The first time we went there for a fish fry they were out of bread, which is supposed to come with the meal. Although they didn't offer a refund they did offer a free piece of cake (the sell premium-quality cakes from Joe's Cakes out of Marquette.) The second time we got a fish fry we took it to go. Once again they were out of bread. We also noticed that they forgot our coleslaw and silverware. We went back and they offered us each a free piece of cake. Don't get me wrong, the cake is very good, but I prefer to know that I'm getting the food I paid for, especially for the price that you pay at this restaurant.
