When you admit that evidence and reason will not sway your opinion, you remove yourself from the purview of rational discourse.
You can't have a debate when one party refuses to ever concede anything, no matter what.
And this - it's called faith - is the very reason that religion survives today, and also why it's pounded into minds so relentlessly from day one and thereafter.
Any other way of thinking would have meant the extinction of religion long ago.
I believe creationists fail to address one little point in their "system". If God did indeed create everything then science is the study of God's creation and thus very akin to studying the Bible, but in an even stricter manner.
With science you can't just say "oh this law I don't like I'll just rewrite it", or "oh this theory looks so much better if I fix these values here". You have to play by the rules and those rules require verification through empirical evidence. Being a creationist means that evidence comes from God's creation itself and thus from God himself. If he truly is a creationist then he must realize that disregarding science is like disregarding God by disregarding His creation and the rules under which His creation is governed.
An immediate corollary to this would be that spreading "false science" is the equivalent of blasphemy. Which is what he seems to have dedicated most of his time.
Everybody’s doing it — confessing their youthful, pot-smoking ways — so here goes.
I don’t remember.
It is true that marijuana smoking tends to affect one’s short-term memory, but the good news is that, while stoned, one does relatively little worth remembering. At least that’s my recollection.
We all know the conspiracy theories — the government's plan for 911, the second gunman who shot JFK, the evolution of the elite from a race of blood-drinking, shape-shifting lizards.
But the people who spread these ideas usually can't prove them.
As the years pass, however, secrets surface. Government documents become declassified. We now have evidence of certain elaborate government schemes right here in the U.S. of A.
As a 9-year-old boy’s birthday party was winding down at an Idaho home on Saturday, a police officer fatally shot a service dog belonging to the boy’s father.
At around 5:30 p.m., the officer was responded to complaints of dogs on the loose, which is what he found when he arrived.
Officer Tarek Hassani, of the Filer Police Department, is seen on footage captured by his vehicle’s dashcam kicking and yelling at the barking dogs as he attempted to make his way to the front door. When one of the dogs attempted to move around him, the officer shot the 7-year-old black labrador, named “Hooch,” at point-blank range.
