To my non-white friends, my women friends, my non-Christian friends and my LGBTQ friends... I'm sorry we failed you. I'm sorry the system continues to fail you and that this country can never live up to its own hype.

I'm sorry that half of this country doesn't think much of your existence.

It's a small consolation prize, I know, but know that you all mean the world to me. Be proud of who you are for I'm proud to know you all.

And I'll do my damnest to shield you and help you and fight for you to continue to be you. You deserve nothing less.

Last year I had the pleasure of being one of CTRF’s guest authors for the fall festival, and I’ve been asked back again this year. I’ll be manning the author booth on Monday, October 10th (Columbus Day) from 1-3pm. Last year was a lot of fun. I mean,…

Here’s a fun music video from the German rock band Salatio Mortis called “Früher war alles besser” which Google Translates into “Everything was Better.” It features not only some killer riffs but the Royal Musketeers fighting the Cardinal’s Guards with…

It's cool. I escaped, y'all.
A man dressed as Zorro and carrying a plastic sword was confronted at gunpoint by police at Los Angeles International Airport Sunday, just moments before a false report of an active shooter sent passengers stampeding from multiple terminals. Airport police responded to Terminal 7 on Sunday at about 8:40...

Anyone who's frequented this blog knows I'm totally on the Assassin's Creed bandwagon, so I was pretty stoked when it was announced that there'd be an Assassn's Creed movie and that Michael Fassbender would be part of it. But I also know better than to get my hopes up too high when it comes to video game movies (damn you, Super Mario Brothers!). Still, I had cautious optimism after seeing some of the trailers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4haJ...

Yea it was a relatively joyless and flat movie. I would've been fine with bad but fun, but it had no charisma.

Currently on Netflix.

This movie is if 'Three Men & a Baby' (had a typo, originally) was a buddy-cop movie in medieval Norway with a dash of James Bond thrown in. I've never seen so many ski chase scenes in my life. For realz.
The Last King (originally Birkebeinerne) is a fun historical adventure film starring Jakob Oftebro as the lead Skjervald and Kristofer Hivju (everyone's favorite Wildling warrior) as Torstein. They're just two post-Viking era bros trying to save the king. Y'know. The usual. Here's the synopsis: Based on true events, THE LAST KING is set in civil war-ravaged Norway. Aided by rebel group the Birch Legs, the Norwegian King fights for survival agains...

When you want to keep writing but your brain is like "We're done, bro. Go to bed." And I'm all like "Screw you, brain. I need to get this all out 5 minutes ago."

New research material.

The French army books is a golden find for me, writing wise and persona building wise.
