Today is National Tortilla Chip day. For some of us, every day might be Tortilla Chip day, though. Here are some truly fascinating facts about this crispy, crunchy chip that's also one of our favorite things here at the Jungle. Actually, among the dozens and dozens of varieties on the floor, it's hard for us to come up with just one favorite out of them all! What's your favorite tortilla chip?

Ugly, maybe. Delicious? Absolutely. We have an entire section dedicated to marked down fruits and vegetables (and maybe some cheese and a few other things) that might be a little on the beat up side, but are just as tasty and nutritious as their prettier counterparts found throughout the Produce and International Produce Departments. Located next to the Produce Departments of both our locations, we encourage you to come check things out… Product changes every day, so you know never know what you’ll find!

Want to find out more about the so-called Ugly Food movement? Here’s another article to shed some light on what we’ve been doing here for years: http://goo.gl/xBEljl
As much as a third of the produce grown on some farms is rejected because it doesn't meet beauty standards. But it's still tasty and healthy. One big firm is now telling growers: Give us your uglies.

The Big Cheese Festival is a whirlwind weekend devoted to all things cheese. Starting with our selection of over 1,400 cheeses at the Jungle Jim’s Cheese Shop, and branching out to all the olives, meats, and appetizers we can gather, we’re paying tribute to one of our favorite foods! We’ll have family friendly activities throughout both days, and beer and wine will be available for those 21 and over. There’s a lot to sample, a lot to share, and a whole lot more where that came from.

A great place to find anything that is consumable. As a test, I asked if they sold edible roaches and they took me to their insect area. There were dried roaches, crickets, grub worms, scorpions, etc... They have international foods as well as a great array of domestic foods. I love the myriad of cheeses and the olive bar. Just a great place.

Jungle Jim's is a really unique store in Ohio, a massive international supermarket with a ton of items you won't find anywhere else. The layout is a bit odd though and it can be difficult to find items at times. The prices themselves are decent. Not overpriced but not great, but it's hard to argue when you have so many unique items.

Jungle Jim's has a wide selection of foods at sometimes discounted prices, most of the time prices are punched up. The place is usually booming with people of Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday's. Especially Saturday's, so avoid going then. Jungle Jim's has a major alcohol and wine section that entice a lot of people. And yes, you can get hard liquor here on Sunday's no issue. One of the things jungle Jim's truely lacks as a company is its employee treatment by management. Overtime, I have really learned a lot from friends that have worked here and the horror stories that have occurred by still reigning management - a bunch of sisters related who are making incredibly long standing decent employees quit because of their mistreatment by these people. This place needs to move into 2016 with its HR department and International manager.

One of my favorite places to shop. If it's a food or drink item, you can almost guarantee they have it here. I always visit here when I'm wanting to try something. The decor is whimsical and makes you forget that you're in a grocery store. It can be a little easy to get lost, so don't be afraid to ask for directions. Definitely worth checking out.

This place doesn't really need more 5 star reviews and hype but I will try anyways. This place is disneyland for foodies. People travel from hours away to hit up JJs. If they don't have it - and it's available... they will order a case for you... and if it sells well they will keep ordering it. The beer selection is EPIC. They also get huge shipments of rare hard to find beers. They have a tasting/growler bar now too. Always some crazy beers on tap at crazy cheap prices. I will deduct 1/10th of a star for them requiring you to use their branded growlers. Hopefully they change this at some point. Pint night is Friday. $3 pint and keep the glass. And where else can you buy LIVE fish to eat. Cheese? Yeah they got that. Heck they have a huge BUTTER section. Hot sauce? I don't think there isn't store on earth with a better selection. Just go. It's worth it. They even have a couple pinball machines.

I love Jungle Jims. So much so- that I actually drive 30 mins from Oxford to spend a few hours there shopping. And by hours I mean, you could spend half a day in their store. Their store features food, wine and beer from across the globe with sections of the store sorted by country and region of origin. On top of that- the store has a huge selection of vegan and gluten free foods. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced. My favorite part of the store is their cheese section and bakery. The bread and sweets are either baked fresh daily or delivered on a weekly basis from local/tri-state area bakeries. I have to say- the english muffins are the best I have ever had, and nothing tops the jalapeño cheddar bread.

Niche supermarket with hard to find foods and items from around the world. The beer and wine section is large and varied. The deli sections are pretty good too. A unique shoping trip. They also have an "Amrican" grocery section.
