Today is National Tortilla Chip day. For some of us, every day might be Tortilla Chip day, though. Here are some truly fascinating facts about this crispy, crunchy chip that's also one of our favorite things here at the Jungle. Actually, among the dozens and dozens of varieties on the floor, it's hard for us to come up with just one favorite out of them all! What's your favorite tortilla chip?

Ugly, maybe. Delicious? Absolutely. We have an entire section dedicated to marked down fruits and vegetables (and maybe some cheese and a few other things) that might be a little on the beat up side, but are just as tasty and nutritious as their prettier counterparts found throughout the Produce and International Produce Departments. Located next to the Produce Departments of both our locations, we encourage you to come check things out… Product changes every day, so you know never know what you’ll find!

Want to find out more about the so-called Ugly Food movement? Here’s another article to shed some light on what we’ve been doing here for years: http://goo.gl/xBEljl
As much as a third of the produce grown on some farms is rejected because it doesn't meet beauty standards. But it's still tasty and healthy. One big firm is now telling growers: Give us your uglies.

If it is, I don't think I'd buy it. With actual walnuts in it would grow bitter faster.

A fun and whimsical, International grocery store. This is the second location. The first one is located in Fairfield. The atmosphere is fun and prices are average but can be a little pricey, however they carry a lot of specialty food. The store has a lot of fun things to look at and explore. The food selection is very extensive. One of my favorite areas is the Olive Bar. They carry far more olives than anywhere I know. They have beer and cigar tastings and other events throughout the year. This is a place that has some changing scenery they are adding to make the store even more fun and whimsical.

Cool place to visit. I take out-of-town folks here every time. They love it and take a lot of pictures. Great variety of ethnic foods; a HUGE selection. If there is something you need here from another country, they most likely have it.

You gotta check this place out. Very large and eclectic grocery store. There are aisles for many different types of ethnic food too. Large health food area. Beer and wine selection is huge. Don't forget to grab a beer or glass of wine at the bar while you're shopping. Go on a weekend and there are usually a lot of vendors and samples.

It's as much destination as grocer. On the very plus side there is more of everything. Not just lots of the same thing, but a huge variety of things. While other local grocers double down on their own in-house brand, Jungle Jim's goes large with excellent high quality offerings.

This place is amazing. You have to stop. Spectacular shopping experience. They have all the weird stuff no one else has and a ton more. An entire +/-3000sf area of nothing but HOT Sauce. Kinky cheeses and pasta, quail eggs, amazing beer, wine, liquor section with a tasting station, hard to find kitchen pots pans, anything hard to find or off the wall. Lost count on different kinds of honey and jams. And a fresh and beautiful produce section that'll make you socks go up and down. Ya won't be able leave without buying something.
