It is my habit, when travel looms, to case the Internet for obscure museums my destination might have to offer. Once loaded, I fixate. Chat me up about my itinerary, and you will definitely come away with the impression that these offbeat locales are the trip's primary raison d'être.

Mark Gahegan offers a reader review:
"There are many science fiction stories describing the effects of information technology on society; what makes this one special is that the grand premise here is not so grand--in fact just the conjunction of many existing technologies and capabilities. What makes it exciting is the manner in which these are woven together, and the picture the author paints of what could be achieved by a radical shift in computational intelligence coupled with a savvy approach to helping us benefit from it. It is also wonderfully refreshing to have a storyline that explores the potential for good in new technology, and that throws down some worthy challenges to our own entrenched values around education, computer games, and what it means to be in a wholesome society."

Building the template system for ontologies. Templates/patterns will tesselate across the semantic web.
This page contains some useful links for the newbie at ODP and ontologies in general. Consider that these are just suggestions where to start, and we do not intend this to be a comprehensive and compl...

Looking at the OWS movement, it's hard not to think about how the planet could use some creative template thinking!

The semantic web mavens are looking to build a layer of design patterns (templates) into the effort, in order that ontologists (those brave teams of structured vocabulary builders) can add a layer of practical logic into their work and into their conversations. Making ontology Intentionfull.

OntologyDesignPatterns.org is a Semantic Web portal dedicated to ontology design patterns (ODPs). The portal was started under the NeOn project, which still partly supports its development. NeOn proje...

Junana: the world you know you want
Introduction
Junana takes you to the present you wished was already here. Junana tracks the arc of a new society in an alternative present time, using concepts and technologies that are mostly available today. Junana displays the future of education that many top scholars in the field are beginning to discuss. The eventual convergence of Internet gaming and education will put powerful learning tools into the hands of teens. In Junana we follow several of these teens as their world explodes through their Game experiences. In Junana the future is now, and we are all gamers. Junana is the beginning of a series of books that lead the reader into this new present. The next book, Junana: Game Nation, explores the impacts of a new society of gamers creating the first non-place-based polity. This could mean war.
