Having a TweetWall for Q & A sessions is also a great way for speakers to engage with the audience and at the same time go viral with their hashtag.

I like the point about doing away with name badges. At first, I have to admit, I wasn't sure I was in agreement. But the argument made convinced me that doing away with the badges would help with networking.

Introduction

Hey, I am Julius

I love technology, events, coffee and blogging.

I talk and write about event technology trends.

I am the editor of +Event Manager Blog. Started in 2007, Event Manager Blog is the number one blog worldwide for event professionals, covering topics such as event planning + social media and events + event technology + event trends + event inspiration but also destination management marketing + meeting planning.

My mission is give event professionals advice, reports and tools to face one of the most stressing jobs on earth.

I am the author of The Event App Bible and The Good Event Registration Guide, two ebooks with unprecedented research about event mobile apps and event registration and ticketing providers. More than 15,000 readers have downloaded the ebooks in less than 6 months.

In 2008 I started the Event Planning and Management LinkedIn Group. A few years later, with more than 130,000 members a team of 12 moderators, it became the de-facto largest gathering of event professionals online.

I also enjoy creating engaging presentations. My annual presentation "10 Event Trends" has been a Slideshare popular presentation of the month for 3 years in a row and recently the 2013 version surpassed 100k views on Slideshare (the first time for the event industry). Here is my Slideshare Channel.

I am a speaker for the event industry. Events I spoke at include Tech Fest 2013, Cvent's Corporate Meeting Summit 2013, Event Tech Circus Amsterdam, event 13, SMAU 2013, MPI Belgium Conference, EIBMT Barcelona, IMEX Frankfurt, Social Media Week Milan 2012, SMAU 2012 and I've been guest lecturer for Dublin City University's Business School.

Before becoming a 100% dedicated blogger and speaker, I have been working as Social Media Consultant for FTSE250 companies in the UK. My last campaign with RS Components won Econsultancy's The Digitals for Best Multichannel Marketing Campaign.

About me

I have previously lived in Milan, Sydney and London. I have previously lived in Milan, Sydney. Presently I am based in London and in an airport near you.

I am a Tarantino fan and love typography.
