Great night in the mountains near Grenoble. It was very cold but the sky was good. Picture taken with a Canon 20D (10s / 3200) directly attached to the Celestron 8SE.

Visualization might come handy after-all :)
The analysis of giant data sets promises unique business insights, but much manual effort is still required to prepare the information for parsing.

I definitely agree with you Andrew. Organizing massive amount of data is just one (small) task.

Interesting article about my passionate sister-in-law.
Armed with a leather glove and a game bag, her long, dark hair tousled by the wind, Jackie Barry is the striking vision of a new era of sportsmen and women practicing an ancient tradition: falconry

Interesting (short) talk to put things into perspective when dealing with scale.
When hundreds of thousands of tweets are fired every second, a one-in-a-million chance -- including unlikely-sounding scenarios that could harm users -- happens about 500 times a day. For Del Harvey, who heads Twitter’s Trust and Safety Team, these odds aren’t good. The security maven spends her days thinking about how to prevent worst-case scenarios while giving voice to people around the globe. With deadpan humor, she offers a window into how s...

Etude intéressante sur un projet entre SCons et CMake :

Elegance and beauty can be defined in many ways but context is apparently important. Maybe this is why the most beautiful language in the world is relegated to being used as an extension language for my editor rather than to run the world. I am currently in the middle of a project moving from ...

We had a nice sky in Lyon over the weekend and Saturn is showing up early in the evening. Got to take my first picture of Saturn from the balcony. The atmosphere was not great  (so hopefully better pictures sometime in the future).
Image stacked from 46 pictures 1/2s exposure time with 800 ISO. Celestron 8 telescope with Canon 20D.

Very good traditional Lyon's food. Great service!

Food is bad, too salty and not really up to the Lyon's standard, plus the price is expensive for what it is.
