BRB, eating all burgers.
A great burger sauce is like a great pair of shapewear: It's not necessary in the way of dressing, but boy does it take your buns to the next level.  RECIPE: The Happiest Hour's 'Happiest Burger' is All Kinds of Happy We're not just talking about ketchup or mayonnaise, either. A good burger sauce needs to have layers of flavors, pairing salty with sweet or spicy with umami. It should complement the burger without overpowering it, giving off a com...

[New Post] Oh hi. I made you a Fully Loaded Baked Falafel Pita. These (vegan!) pita pockets boast my crunchy, zingy quick-pickled radishes, a fresh tomato-parsley salad, roasted garlic hummus, tahini sauce, crisp butter lettuce, and baked falafel that is crunchy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside.

Also, this is the second post in my series on anti-racism for white folks! Thank you all so much for committing to read at least the first two -- I hope after this you will be eager to read more.

I really love it here. I think the biggest draw for me is how SUPER NICE and welcoming everyone is. I'm not a fantastically bendy person, but all the instructors are really sweet and helpful. They also have a great class schedule (I can come early in the morning, grab a quick shower and get to work on time) and challenging-for-me classes that are 45 minutes long -- the perfect length for me.

I waited for 5 years to make a dentist appointment because I have high anxiety about the experience and potential dental problems and high cost. This dental practice was such a blessing to me. Chelsea was SO nice with my cleaning (didn't hurt at all and she made me feel really comfortable) and I didn't have any issues -- I should've gone MUCH sooner. I made sure to make my 6 month follow-up appointment at the end so that I don't get off track again. So glad it was as easy and painless as it was!!

BEDBUGS. This was an awful hotel experience. We thought it was bad when the Wi-Fi didn't work at all (front desk kept repeating that we needed to open the browser. We know how it SHOULD work, but it didn't), TV didn't work. The worst part was when we moved a pillow and discovered a BEDBUG (see photo). We unfortunately hadn't seen the other reviews about this. We packed all of our things and left immediately to drive 2.5 hours back home and are now freezing/heating all of our luggage and clothing. What a huge mess. The hotel gave us a refund, but I really wish we didn't have to be terrified of a bedbug infestation now. Not worth it. DON'T STAY HERE.

Got a VERY quick $30 inspection just now (around 2 pm on a Thursday). Super easy, no fuss, and no telling me my car needs XYZ when it doesn't. Thanks :)

We just went to St. Jacques for my husband's birthday and it was really an incredible dining experience. The service was warm and gracious, and they made my husband feel special from the moment we arrived. The food was outstanding, also. We had the escargots, short ribs (my favorite!), a grouper special, and the "Chocolate Ball of Dream" for dessert. Every bite was perfection. We definitely want to return, and it was well worth the investment to have such a special night. Thank you, St. Jacques!

I can't really express how disappointed I am with AMH. My boyfriend was down from Raleigh to help me bring my newly rescued cat for his appointment and we left early with him and drove from Cornelius down to their offices. Through no fault of our own, Independence was closed down to one lane. We were about 18 minutes late (I called before my appointment time to let them know I was running late and why). I understand that they'd have to take the next appointment before us in that case, but they didn't just do that -- they enacted a PUNITIVE policy that they would take all the walk-ins in the waiting room before us. We would have to wait (with my cat in his tiny temporary cardboard crate that he was currently dismantling) for over an hour. I know they could have made an exception because one receptionist asked about it, but they chose not to. Nevermind that I told them about the road conditions and my boyfriend's 3-hour trip. Nevermind that we weren't 20 minutes late (that's when their policy kicks in) until she started checking us in and called back to the doctor. This is ALSO the same office that years ago agreed to see my turtle (not an emergency or anything). When I got there, I quickly realized the vet had NO qualifications to do so -- she was basically a recreational turtle lover. She had as many qualifications as I did. She even wanted to clip my red-eared slider's nails -- not something you do. I paid for the visit and didn't say anything then, though I was upset, but now their offenses are really accumulating. Thanks for helping NOT helping me with my new rescue baby at all. Other relevant info, by the way: this is one of those giant machines of a vet clinic with tons of doctors. I much prefer a small vet clinic where they know me and my babies and actually CARE about my animals.
