is now recruiting for the 2015 Summer Immersion Program! This is a great program. Please share!
Girls Who Code, a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology, is now recruiting for the 2015 Summer Immersion Program. The organization encourages high school girls currently in 10th and 11th grade to apply, regardless of prior experience or exposure to computer science. They are looking for students with a passion for technology and a desire to learn!
The Summer Immersion Program is an unforgettable 7-week course that pairs computer science education with field trips to top tech companies and mentorship from amazing women in the industry. Throughout the summer, girls get a chance to learn everything from mobile app development to robotics to web design, and ultimately build the products they want to see in the world. Last Summer, young women got a chance to hear from guest speakers like Sheryl Sandberg, Jack Dorsey, Dick Costolo, and even Chelsea Clinton!
Girls Who Code embeds classrooms of 20 girls each in technology companies and universities across the country to create a fun, collaborative environment for girls to learn to computer science while becoming immersed in the technology industry. The 2015 Summer Immersion Program will be open to girls in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Mountain View, New York City, Newark, Palo Alto, San Francisco, San Jose, San Ramon, Seattle, Springfield, MA, and Washington, DC.
The program is FREE for students, and transportation stipends are available for students with limited financial resources.
