Some fellow Missouri photographers had their gear stolen on a trip to photograph a children's camp in Kenya.  If you can help please donate, if you know someone who has some Nikon FX lenses that they no longer want or need spread the word, if nothing else just help by sharing their GoFund me link to help them raise money so they can get back to work as professional photographers.

For those of you that are also on Facebook, I was nominated for the Black and White challenge that's floating around.  I thought I would share the shots I chose for that as I post them there.  =)

Hello everyone!!  How have you all been?

I apologize for the lack of posts for the past few months. My husband and I were taking full time care of my father-in-law for almost a year, and his care, his subsequent passing, and a health scare for me have made me look at the calendar and wonder where the summer went.  In fact, I'm fairly certain that the whole month of August didn't even happen despite what the calendar tells me.

However, on the upside, I am back, and hopefully will be posting on a regular basis again.  With everything that's gone on in the last few months new photos are few and far between, but I'll do my best to share images that you haven't yet seen.

This is one of those shots.  This was taken at Canyon de Chelly in Arizona on the Navajo nation.  Tourists are not allowed in the canyon without a Navajo guide because many Navajo still live in the canyon as they did years ago.  It's a beautiful, awe inspiring place filled with palpable history.  While the petroglyphs are beautiful and intriguing nature is my favorite, and I was so happy to turn from the wall that our guide was explaining to witness this mom and baby.  Horses are one of my spirit animals and I felt blessed to be able to see them wild and free.
