Mark Rushing: Wow I had no idea you were doing law! I hadn't even heard of these "technicians" before. Although it would be nice to find less expensive ways to accomplish certain common legal things, I can certainly see your point about it having little to do with low income access to the legal profession. For my part, I completely agree with the points and potential consequences you raised about such a sub-profession.
It reminds me a lot of "nurse practitioners" replacing doctor functions to save money and allow for higher volume to flow through the organization at less cost. And also the licensing of less expensive nurses to perform nurse roles.
