Phil, I commend you and Mary for putting yourselves out there. You wrote a song and she sang it, and it takes courage to get in front of people, especially people that you know are going to tweet, post, and share it everywhere. While I can't say the song resonates with me, I appreciate what you did, and I respect you for it.

 I don't think she was being uncritically positive. She was just saying it takes balls to put something like that up, and after facepalming so hard I almost squished an eyeball, I couldn't agree more.

However, not every nonprofit organization and professional is ready or willing to take the plunge into the social media pool.

Here are 6 reasons that your nonprofit may not be ready for social media.

How To Create Eye-Catching Graphics For Your Nonprofit (Without Using Photoshop!)

I presented a great webinar this week with @4good and Nonprofit Webinars, and I am happy to share it with you here.

Summary: There is no doubt that visuals are driving online communications in 2014. Our minds react differently to visual content.

On Facebook, videos are shared 12X more than links and text posts combined. 42% of all Tumblr posts are photos. On YouTube, 100 million users are taking a social action on videos every week. 36% of all shared links on Twitter are photos!

Take-aways:

The 6 things that make a great nonprofit visual;
Examples from nonprofits that are making and sharing eye-catching graphics;
Free or low-cost tools that do not require any technical knowledge to use!
