Attendees at an Interactive Advertising Bureau meeting discussed reasons why consumers turn to ad blocking, including unwieldy ads leading to poor loading times and data charges.

A big obstacle is the lack of cooperation with telecommunications networks and handset-makers on improving mobile advertising. "The telecommunications networks are the gatekeepers to a lot of the environment, and the advertising is not their business," IAB CEO Randall Rothenberg said.
