We are called to make disciples. If we fail in that, we fail in all.

Let politicians do political things. Victories on the religious freedom front cannot be used to replace the imperative of sharing the Gospel and doing the Lord’s work. Now is not the time to get complacent. Our political victories must become a rallying cry to double-down on the cultural battles we face.

Once people find the truth, they’ll suffer all sorts of calumnies and abuses for it. They’ll even die for it, as we’ve been tragically and heroically reminded of by the martyrs of the Islamic State over the past two years. And, yes, you can be for absolutely certain they’ll actually get out of bed and get to church for it.

The fact that they don’t agree with our Biblical premise does not mean we are forced to argue only based upon their premises. They can pick the venue. We must pick our own weapons and our own combat strategies. Otherwise, we’re going to continue to spin our wheels as we have been for over 50 years.

In the lingering twilight of Christendom, we were not really listening to the words of Christ: “My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36) We did not have to listen. Now we do. Perhaps, then, we should summon a bit of gratitude for the reminder that desolation is man’s natural state.

Unless you reject either Christ’s divinity or his humanity — and you can’t, by the way – then you must believe that Christ, as man, went through all of the same stages of development every other human goes through. Therefore if an unborn child is “only a blob of cells,” then Christ was only a blob of cells. And if a blob of cells in the womb has no value, then Christ had no value. To say that Christ had value in the womb while every other baby does not is to say that Christ was not really fully human, which, as we discussed, is a heresy.

“Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude,” she said. “How do you possibly thank someone for saving your child’s life? Words are not enough.”

Flournoy called on pastors, other church leaders and Christians in general to "please wake up and begin to stand up. Together we can remain the land of the free when we prove that we are the home of the brave."
