Week In Pictures
Shot a full week's worth of interactions this time. The 1.2 50mm Canon fixed prime lens is a thing of beauty; dang hard to get focus right at apertures that big, but when you do, the results are incredible. I put an 'X' at the end of the captions of the pic...

Investment Stages
With so much startup investment activity these days, I find myself in regular discussion around valuations, stages of investment (and what those stages mean), and, from the entrepreneur’s perspective, when to engage various forms of investment. I’m a visual...

incredible story/journey.
We met at 18. We wed at 24. At 27, I checked my wife into a psych ward—for the first time. How mental illness reshapes a marriage.

Android: I Tried
A couple of months ago I shelved Apple/iOS (iPhone 6) for Android (Sony Xperia Z3 Compact) . I'd been a rabid Apple/iOS fan since the first iPhone. I switched because the iPhone 6 industrial design sucks, and iOS 8 was buggy. A few days ago I moved back to ...

Great article. Esther Dyson is a world traveler. When we spoke last night, I think she said she'd been to India, London, Aspen, SF and NYC in the 10 days prior to her trip to Denver. This means that she comes at these things with a breadth of perspective. Over lunch today she noted that the government can provide a market. This piece – on school lunches – illustrates that perspective. Not an easy market to crack, mind you. But a big one.

With the explosion of all the affordable Consumer Electronics crap pouring into the world, I'm curious as to how the engineering end of it all is happening. I'm a s/w guy through and through. I have a grasp of physical, EE, materials, chemistry, and such, b...

my biggest fear while riding. no-way to protect against a scenario like this happening. both parties "blind."

most exquisitely composed sushi in boulder for sure. absolutely gorgeous build-out (look at the shade fans on the ceiling). great owner/operators who command excellence from their staff.

food is ok. the restaurant is situated alone overlooking Boulder from the mountains; amazing. service is decent, but tries way to hard for what it is.
