A small release today (version 2.4.3) that addresses some small bugs, but also adds a new option (number of active torrents), which you can find in the settings. Any additional torrents will be "queued" and downloaded after other torrents finish.

Please let me know if you have any trouble!

+Cameron Hudson To add a .torrent file from your hard disk, simply click on the "Add" button without entering in a URL. A file selection dialog will pop up and you can choose the .torrent file

The main point of this release is to fix a bug that was making JSTorrent incorrectly read base32 magnet links, which was preventing downloads from starting.

Update: Aug 8 - 2.3.0
- Fix for base32 magnet links
- Speed improvement using Web Crypto API

Sharing this great article about JSTorrent from lifehacker! A great review!
Chrome: Although Chromebooks have limited storage space, they make a great BitTorrent machine since you're less likely to be affected by malware. JSTorrent is BitTorrent client that works on any Chromebook.

+Soph Overend Pressing stop doesn't mean you'll lose your progress. You can then start it again and resume from where you left off! "Stop" in this app means more like "Pause"

One clear benefit of using JSTorrent - it runs on the VERY secure Chrome platform. It is not even possible for JSTorrent to get access to any files outside of your download directory.
On March 4, we detected that the Transmission BitTorrent ailient installer for OS X was infected with ransomware, just a few hours after installers were initially posted. We have named this Ransomware “KeRanger.” The only…

For people looking for the app for downloading torrents on Chromebook. Do not use it for illegal purposes :)
BitTorrent is a very popular file-sharing protocol for transferring large files. BitTorrent clients for Windows and Mac were available for many years now, but what about Chrome OS? Since Chrome OS is basically a web browser, downloading torrent files was always a complicated process. Fortunatelly, thanks to the app called JSTorrent, now we have a very capable BitTorrent client for Chrome.

Did your ChromeOS just update to version 37? Did you notice that you got an error "Missing Directory - Unable to locate download directory"?

To fix things, just click on "Remove Directory" on the system notification, and then re-select your download directory in the JSTorrent options pane.

It looks to be a Chrome bug. If you got the error, you can star the issue on crbug https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=410773

When Chrome 36 ships, the Web Crypto API is finally available, which will speed up hash checking. That means faster downloads, and less CPU/battery consumed!

+Ronan O hIcidhe Ronan, yes, ChromeOS's video player does not support very many audio codecs, so some media files you won't hear any audio. Almost 100%, a MP4 file will work great, so try those whenever you can.

Your other option is to use "crouton" and play your files with VLC or mplayer, but it is kind of a pain and a little inconvenient this way
