Be sure to join us for the final OBANZ hangout of the year! Natalie Denmaede shares with us her classroom gamification project The Velvet Throne. Which House will become the noble family to rule over all of Tareesteros and sit on the Velvet Throne?

This classroom gamification project aims to motivate learners to complete a qualification in Certificate Three and Four in Digital Media. The students are mainly young boys 17 - 22 with  a few mature age students.

If you have burning questions around the issuing of badges, or how it would work in your organisation, we'd love to have you on the panel.

If you are keen to listen in and participate, we will once again use the Etherpad collaborative notetaking and chat app so you can add your questions, notes and contributions. Link to follow...
This Hangout On Air is hosted by OBANZ - Open Badges Australia and New Zealand. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

A colleague sent me a copy of the latest Horizon report.
http://cdn.nmc.org/media/2014-nmc-horizon-report-k12-EN.pdf
It mentions gamification, including badges, to be 2-3 years till adoption.

Hey everyone in Melbourne. Bron Stuckey and I are holding an open badges workshop on Tuesday 9th December. We have decided for this inaugural #BadgeLab to make the event very low cost and donate all fees to a Xmas Appeal. We want to road test this, and would love to have you along for the ride.

We know it's a crowded time of year, but if you have or are planning a badge project and would like to use the assembled group as a sounding board for design then do come join us! #AcademicTribe #InnovativeEducationalIdeas
