Looking for some advice. One of my PC's has a pet hawk that I would like to incorporate more into our game. It would add an additional dimension to the character. Has anyone done this in their games? I am guessing the easiest way to do it would be to write the hawk as an ally? Just really looking for suggestions. Cheers!

If it's more of a 'pet' with no special abilities, then giving the bird behavioral quirks and putting the stats out as an Ally could work, but without the edges +Richard Woolcock referenced, the animal will be independent and unpredictable.

And YouTube videos on Falconry can be helpful in seeing how finicky the birds can be.

Still this is a timely article
A question that comes up quite often from those new to Savage Worlds is how to handle boss fights, particularly solo foes. This isn't as simple as it sounds, as combat in Savage Worlds can be brutally fast, and when the party...

So, I was wondering what kind of fiction would you guys recommend that capture the spirit and themes that Hero's Journey manages to convey. Any suggestions?

I wonder if there are any recent YA books out there that might capture the spirit and themes of THJ.

Thank you. You will not be disappointed in the book. The Russian themed book is also amazing and just chalked full of awesome ideas. They also have plans for more English support.

I want to give this whole blogging thing ago! Most likely be a place more for my own thoughts but thought I would share!
I believe a good way to start this blog is by discussing what it is all about. At the most basic level, Timber Road Society Adventures will discuss the many different aspects of roleplaying games. My approach, at least for th...

Just getting into the game and want to focus on the Borg simply because they look so cool. What should I be collecting for a good core fleet to start with.

tbh they're all exceptional. To start, you'll really want the sphere, queen vessel, and scout cube. Soong is best after that - it doesn't fly the same but has some killer upgrades. make sure you read http://wizkids.com/attackwing/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2015/04/STAW-Tournament-Rules-042915.pdf if you plan to take them to a tournament, their movement and shooting range were nerfed since release

During the last episode of DSR, a new release for S&W was going to be kickstarted (at least that is what I think I heard).Has there been any press releases or other such announcements regarding this?

According to Matt & Stacy, it should be timed to coincide with GenCon this year. So, as Ryan says, end of July.
