I've been using upstart more lately and found that it's generally easier to consult the environment variables for configuration than having an entirely separate config file. I modified the standard package flag to consult the environment for changed values. Details can be found at http://godoc.org/github.com/icub3d/eflag.
Package eflag provides a drop in replacement for the flag Go standard library package with the exception that it allows you to map command line flags with environmental variables that override the value.

Through the examples of ancient Apostles, Elder Perry teaches how priesthood keys were restored to latter-day prophets. Watch this video to learn more. #ComeFollowMe

I love to use the standard log package. Hooking it up to the systemd logger has some strange side effects though. For example, using log/syslog duplicates the timestamp, host, application name, and pid.
To alleviate this, I wrote a small package based on log/syslog called sysdlog. It hooks up to the standard logger quite nicely or can be used on it's own to log messages to systemd. Feedback is always welcome!

General Discussion  -

I don't know if it's just me, but I seem to be getting a lot of ads to this blog post. I'm guessing it's related the recent post: http://blog.mongohq.com/how-we-scale-mongodb/. Is everyone else getting this ad? If it's happening enough, is it something MongoDB should respond to?
You may have heard that MongoDB has issues with scaling out. You may have heard that Viber is replacing MongoDB with Couchbase Server. Have you heard that MongoHQ has to scale up? I agree with MongoHQ on one thing. It's easier to scale up. While scaling up may be the only solution for MongoDB, it is not the right solution.

It's weird, MongoHQ states that it scales out perfectly

The I/O interface in Go are really useful and inspired me to write a small library that wraps mutators and inspectors around them as data passes trough. You can check out the library here: https://github.com/icub3d/wrapio/. I also wrote a blog post about using it here: http://go.mrsh.in/5ir.
Go's I/O interface make mutating or inspecting data on the fly really simple.

I've been tinkering with doozer and groupcache. It's relatively easy. Check it out! http://go.mrsh.in/37Z (http://joshua.themarshians.com/doozer-groupcache.html).
Groupcache provides a great way to cache data. Instances can be dynamically managed using software like Doozer.

"As we remember prayer and take time to turn to the scriptures, our lives will be infinitely more blessed and our burdens will be made lighter." - Thomas S. Monson

This always works for me. Meditation, in whatever form works best for you, is a great way to solve life's problems.

Two of my favorite past-time games in this one and the price is always right! :)
Pay what you want to get Ticket to Ride, Greed Corp, Incredipede, and Anodyne -- all while supporting vital charities! Beat the average price and get Worms Reloaded and The Bard’s Tale. All these games are DRM-free and run on Android, Windows, Mac and Linux.

I wrote a small package that implements a url shortener. I'm using it for another project and thought it would be useful for others as well as my own personal sites. My goal was to make it easy to add to an existing web site. I'd appreciate any feedback: https://github.com/icub3d/urls

+Joshua Marsh, There's a couple of bits where an err-check is double-nested, e.g. github.com/icub3d/urls/blob/master/handlers.go#L125

+Jace Vickers and +Thomas Ally , I don't have a windows computer and from what I can  tell there hasn't been much success using PlaOn on mac or Linux. Maybe this weekend I'll try some tinkering though.

I have been very pleased with their service. Any time I've had an issue, they have been very prompt. The service though has been really stable overall. The bandwidth is great as well. I can work from home without an issue even when both my wife and children are watching Netflix.

They were quick and did a great job. I had a screw in my tire and they removed it for free! I'll definitely be returning for any of my tire needs.

This isn't our favorite pizza in the valley, but it's close. The proximity to our house plus the availability of delivery makes this place wonderful. We get pizza here about 2-3 times a month and have never been disappointed.
