Heh, Advance Auto just emailed me to remind me to do my 157k mile service on my Subaru Forester. Last weekend I rolled over 197k.

Not sure which event makes me giggle more :-D

WOOT! RPi2 just arrived, took exactly 40 minutes to install OSMC and copy .kodi folder from old the RPi and poof: Everything is working perfectly! Almost can't believe the difference in performance!!

For the first time, I can freely navigate the menus while video is actively playing in the background with no lag at all. Finally, the micro-media-center I've always wanted! :-D

Woot! At the Amerks game (2-for-1 tickets) and they just gave everyone free tickets to next week's Wednesday game! Wish I got video of the human bowling ball that won us the tickets :-)

Destroyable companion cube still does not talk. ;-)

A weighted companion cube.  The body and medallions are from 6061 aluminum, machined both at home and at work (yay Workshops - my little mill at home is not up to the task of eating really big bites).  The color is powder-coated, good to about 400F.

Ironically, the hearts on the medallions are the only machining step not done by hand.  The one thing that ought to have the care and attention of manual work was instead done on a CNC machine - very heartless and cold, and thus very Portal in its irony.

The incineration at the end is reversible, as long as the brush burner is wielded with some restraint.  This cube can be destroyed and reassembled indefinitely.  As GlaDOS says in Portal 2, "They ARE sentient, of course. We just have a LOT of them."
