Big Win for Traditional Country Music Fans!

Johnny Cash's "Out Among The Stars," a lost album from the 80s, is the current #1 country album! (It beat out the recent garbage released by Jerrod Niemann) I'm beyond thrilled to see this! Cash reaches #1, despite the fact that none of these songs are getting radio play and won't get any either despite #1 status. Many artists have had "lost" songs released after their death, but they never reached the top of the charts.

I guess nobody listens to traditional country music anymore, huh? ;)

My Thoughts Exactly!

This new view count feature is one of dumbest features I've seen introduced to Google+. I'll reiterate what I said yesterday. This is nothing but an ego stroke for the "social media experts." I don't give a flying crap about views. If a high view count makes you feel all warm and special inside, good for you. My feelings don't revolve around numbers on the Internet.

<rant heading>View Count</rant heading>

<rant>When is the last time you saw a view counter on a website? Did the website look professional? Was there any value of knowing how many people had visited the website?

Yesterday Google introduced a new metric to replace the number of people that follow you or your page with the number of "views" you have. Now, there are conflicting reports of what information this includes and how up-to-date it is. For example, does it include authored content across the web, or just Google+ posts?

Regardless, knowing your "view count" doesn't accomplish much unless you know the analytics behind that number and what it is comprised of. If McDonald's bought ground beef solely on the metric that it served billions of customers, it would end up with too much beef on its hands, as many of its customers don't consume beef at all.

You can rejoice in the fact that you have hundreds of thousands of "views" and only a couple of followers, but how is that information helpful to you?

Information without context is just a bunch of random numbers.</rant>

The Way HIMYM Should've Ended!

From here on out this is going to be the actual ending in my mind. He never gets back together with Robin and the show ends on the train platform.

And now I'm leaving Google+ for the day. Why? Because I don't feel like seeing all of the ego power users taking turns stroking each other for their high amount of page views, followed by a bunch of nonsensical posts on boosting your page views.

Profiles and pages now display total content views

Ever wonder how many times your shared Google+ content has been seen? Starting today you’ll see a new number on your Google+ profile or page: total content views.

This number is the sum of your profile, post and photo views since October 2012, and you can choose to show or hide it via settings. Just visit plus.google.com/settings, scroll down to “Profile,” and make your selection (http://goo.gl/8BjroH). #googleplusupdate

How I Met Your Mother comes to an end tonight. Truly a bitter, sweet moment. I hate to see it end, but we finally get the end to an awesome show. Yes the recent seasons haven't been their best, but you don't see top many shows last nine seasons anymore. And the first four seasons were so damn good that it was impossible to keep the magic going for all nine seasons. I was going to rank my top ten favorite episodes, but that would be impossible. Off the top of my head I would say The Pineapple Incident, The Playbook, Slap Bet and Stuff would be four of my many favorites.

Introduction
I came to Google Plus in the fall of 2011 and had no idea what I was getting into. At first I didn't think too much of this place, but I felt it had potential so I stuck around. And that turned out to be a great decision!

About Me:

I'm a pretty honest person with an opinion on everything. Sometimes you may like it and other times you may not. I'm not afraid to question the status quo and go against popular opinion. Hence why I'm on Google+ saying this and not the cesspool that is Facebook. (People here tend to avoid posting vain bullshit and outdated memes. We post the latest and greatest memes!) I get annoyed by stupid people pretty easily, so if you act as such you won't be sticking around my profile very long. Other than that I'm pretty easy to get along with. I welcome you to check out my posts and get to know me!

You probably won't find too many people that are as big of sports fans as I am. I'm a fan of the Cleveland Indians (yeah I know they don't win a lot) and the Ohio State Buckeyes (one of the most hated teams in sports). I post a lot about sports, but I also post a lot of other stuff for you non-sports people. I post about Google+, pop culture, technology, social media, music, interesting videos, out of the ordinary stuff and anything in between. I'm a Christian who has a strong faith in God. But I don't talk about politics and religion because I don't feel like getting a headache. Believe what you want and be happy.

I write for an Ohio State sports blog called Men of the Scarlet and Gray. I obviously write about the Buckeyes, but I also write about the B1G (Big Ten) Conference. So fans of both be sure to check out some of my posts here.

I enjoy meeting and interacting with new people, so don't be afraid to circle me! If you interact with my posts and make interesting comments, I might even circle you back.

Topics I'm Interested In Talking About:
  • Social Media & Technology
  • Google Stuff
  • Hangouts & HOA (I've worked with Rant Sports, USA Today Sports and The Orange Bowl, as well as host a weekly hangout called B1G Sports Report)
  • Android Stuff
  • Sports (College football, college basketball, MLB, NBA, NFL, NASCAR)
  • The Ohio State Buckeyes
  • Cleveland Indians
  • Broadcasting/Journalism/Media
  • Music (No Taylor Swift!)
  • Humor

Awesome Communities I Own:
  • Big 10 Sports - Over 1500 members strong, this is the place to talk everything and anything concerning Big Ten sports.
  • Buckeye Nation - The Google+ home of the best damn fans in the land! Go Buckeyes!

I thought it was a nice place to eat until a few hours after dining there. I became violently ill and was sick for 2 days. It wasn't the flu, so obviously it was food poisoning. I would recommend staying clear away from this place!

Overall a pretty nice hotel. The rooms were clean and fresh linens were always provided daily. The employees of the hotel were friendly and courteous. The hot breakfast bar overall was good. Really no complaints about the place. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're passing through.

Overall a pretty great place to eat and one of the better restaurants in Vienna. The decor and atmosphere is very modern and up to date, making it a great dining experience. Food is great and there's lots of variety on the menu. I had the steak and chicken tenders and it tasted pretty good. Chicken tenders were great and the steak was good. I would also recommend the onion rings. You will never leave hungry because the meals are large. Service was nice, considering it was packed. Waiter always checked in on us. I would definitely recommend this if you're ever in Vienna.
