Heads up on a free movie!

The first Transformers movie is currently free on Google Play. Might as well swoop it while you can!

Edit: If you're in the UK, Fast and Furious is your free movie.

I love that two of the free movies I have over the years from Google Play now consist of Transformers 1 and 3.

The 50th ACM Awards are coming up and of course I have some thoughts on the nominations. Let's just say I'm ready for some new blood in mainstream country music.

Due to Winter Storm Juno, the 2015 ACM Award nominations were pushed back from Tuesday this past week to yesterday morning (much to the chagrin of country music outlets looking for stuff to write about). There aren’t a lot of surprises for the 50th Annual…

Wow! Another change at the top. This will be interesting to watch...

David Besbris Is No Longer Running Google+ - Google David Besbris is no longer running Google’s social media products, including Google+, according to a company spokesperson. Besbris is still at the company, but Bradley Horowitz, a longtime Google+ product VP, has taken over Google+ and Photos, a spokesperson confirmed. The news was first reported by TechCrunch. It is unclear why Besbris is no longer running the show. He took over Google+ last April when Vic Gundotra, w... http://ow.ly/2VkjLG

Compulsive Liar: The Roger Goodell Story

(And I don't even like the NFL, but I know Goodell is a piece of crap)
"It has been a season of amazing competition, challenges and real progress." "The NFL is made up of good and caring people." "We are doing more to protect our players from unnecessary risks." "Concussions were down 25%." "The quality of the game continues to improve." "Last year, technology improved officiating." "The possibility of expanding the playoffs has been a topic the last couple of years. There are positives to it." "We are continuing ou...

Take my money!

Forget Google Glass, I'll take this!

BOOM!! Shots fired!

Meet Microsoft #HoloLens  ... I'm booking my trip to the HoloDeck right now! I'm watching live so I don't have other details but this, at the very least, looks very cool. This is an exciting time in tech!

UPDATE: This demo I'm watching, with the camera recording the actual holographic interactions is much cooler than most people realize! Having a camera rigged to be able to capture that is amazing tech in and of itself. Well done MS!

More info here: http://www.wired.com/2015/01/microsoft-hands-on/  I'm so very excited for this one!

Here are some fantastic Gmail tips from Lifehacker. I never knew about some of these features. I've already enabled the send & archive feature along with the undo send feature too.
As if Gmail wasn't powerful enough, you can find all sorts of goodies and extra features in Gmail Labs. The list is pretty massive, so we've narrowed down our 10 favorite labs to help increase your email productivity.

This is a fantastic read that everyone should see.

Found via: +Mark Miller

I am going to repost the poem I posted last night for those gunned down Paris.  Not for me, but for them.  From what I've learned, they did what they loved and loved what they believe in and did so without regrets.  We can all learn something from an attitude like that.

Last night (All day yesterday and the day before, actually) the voices in my head simply stopped.  No chatter.  No thoughts.  No nothing.  And then this morning I realized why.  It was because I need to relearn my own voice again, and quit relying everything on whatever pops in there.  I need to find MY passion again.

Life is too short for bullshit.  You can change anything in your life you want to change.  Don't like where you live?  Move.  Don't like how much you write?  Write more.  Don't like what you write?  Write something different.  You are in control of your life if you take control.  Yes, changing IS easy...the problem is, excuses are easier.

You are in control of your passion.  You can change anything you damn well please.  Quit worrying about so much that doesn't matter.  Quit worrying about things you CAN'T change and start changing the things you CAN change.

What Really Matters

Will I be remembered?
Doubtful, to say the least.
At least, not for the things
I wish to be remembered for.
None of us will, probably.

The things we look for,
We never truly find.
The things we find,
Are not what we were looking for.
The things we are remembered for,
Are somewhere in between.

Is it possible to be remembered
by a passion rather than an action?
Even if the action was reflective of the passion?
Probably not.
Will we be remembered at all?
Probably not.

So it really doesn't matter
Once the gravestone has been selected
And neatly placed, at our place of rest,
Does it?

Probably not.

Remember, before you forget
And regret.

Don't live to be a memory
That will never be.
Don't live for them.

Live for your passion,
Live for you,
Live for now
For that is all that really matters.

Story

A no-nonsense sports guy who enjoys listening to music and playing video games.
Introduction
I came to Google Plus in the fall of 2011 and had no idea what I was getting into. At first I didn't think too much of this place, but I felt it had potential so I stuck around. For a while Google+ was pretty damn good, but it has since gone down hill. Word of advice: Don't follow the social media experts and SEO people. In other words, pretty much anyone here for "business purposes." They are the reason this place isn't as good as it could be.

About Me:

I'm a pretty honest person with an opinion on everything. Sometimes you may like it and other times you may not. I get annoyed by stupid people pretty easily, so if you act as such you won't be sticking around my profile very long. Other than that I'm pretty easy to get along with. I welcome you to check out my posts and get to know me.

You probably won't find too many people that are as big of sports fans as I am. I'm a fan of the Cleveland Indians (yeah I know they don't win a lot) and the Ohio State Buckeyes (one of the most hated teams in sports). I post a lot about sports, but I also post a lot of other stuff for you non-sports people. I post about Google+, pop culture, technology, social media, music, interesting videos, out of the ordinary stuff and anything in between. I'm a Christian who has a strong faith in God. But I don't talk about politics and religion because I don't feel like getting a headache. Believe what you want and be happy.

I own and operate a country music review and news site called Country Perspective. If this interests you be sure to check out countryperspective.com

I write for an Ohio State sports blog called Men of the Scarlet and Gray. I obviously write about the Buckeyes, but I also write about the B1G (Big Ten) Conference. So fans of both be sure to check out some of my posts here.

I enjoy meeting and interacting with new people, so don't be afraid to circle me! If you interact with my posts and make interesting comments, I might even circle you back.

Topics I'm Interested In Talking About:

  • Technology
  • Hangouts & HOA (I've worked with Rant Sports, USA Today Sports and The Orange Bowl, as well as host a weekly hangout called B1G Sports Report)
  • Sports (College football, college basketball, MLB, NBA, NFL, NASCAR)
  • The Ohio State Buckeyes
  • Cleveland Indians
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Broadcasting/Journalism/Media/Podcasting
  • Music (No Bro Country! I like real country music.)
  • Video Games
  • Humor
  • Movies
  • Go Look at My Posts if You Need Further Clarification

Awesome Communities I Own:
  • Big 10 Sports - Over 2200 members strong, this is the place to talk everything and anything concerning Big Ten sports.
  • Buckeye Nation - The Google+ home of the best damn fans in the land! Go Buckeyes!

I thought it was a nice place to eat until a few hours after dining there. I became violently ill and was sick for 2 days. It wasn't the flu, so obviously it was food poisoning. I would recommend staying clear away from this place!

Overall a pretty nice hotel. The rooms were clean and fresh linens were always provided daily. The employees of the hotel were friendly and courteous. The hot breakfast bar overall was good. Really no complaints about the place. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're passing through.

Overall a pretty great place to eat and one of the better restaurants in Vienna. The decor and atmosphere is very modern and up to date, making it a great dining experience. Food is great and there's lots of variety on the menu. I had the steak and chicken tenders and it tasted pretty good. Chicken tenders were great and the steak was good. I would also recommend the onion rings. You will never leave hungry because the meals are large. Service was nice, considering it was packed. Waiter always checked in on us. I would definitely recommend this if you're ever in Vienna.
