""States have increasingly turned toward the monthly wireless bill as a revenue stream to pay for ballooning public pensions and government services.
Watchdog.org previously reported that Truth In Accounting, a government transparency organization, found that the combined debt of all 50 states totaled more than $1.3 trillion.
While the average monthly wireless bill, according to the new Tax Foundation study, has decreased 7 percent from $49.94-$46.64 between July 2008-July 2015, the average combined tax and fee rate during that time increased from 15.5 percent to nearly 18 percent."

My latest for Watchdog.org.

"Updating the nation’s privacy laws has, however, been anything but swift. The Securities and Exchange Commission has been a central opponent of reform in this area for several years."

"The pace at which the agency is attempting to implement the rules tells Scribner that the agency could be looking to dispense with the normal process of notifying the public and allowing the public comment to comment on the rules.

Instead, he said, it could impose the rules using an “emergency rule making” in the name of mitigating perceived threats to public safety."
The FAA is considering under the guise of public safety making the mandatory registration of small drones flown by hobbyists.
