Look inward for the problem and your self enabling group of dumb asses.

#Dodge #Disadvantage
I haven't posted in this community yet, but thought I would share something that happened from our game this weekend.

Our party is currently 3rd level and we have (Dex Fighter, War Priest, TWF Ranger, Bard, Illusionist).  My character is the dex based fighter with shield and rapier, and has 17 base AC and 19 with defensive duelist (reaction on hit).

With the Dodge action every round, Second Wind, Parry Maneuver, Inspiration from Bard, and Defensive Duelist feat was able to hold a choke point against 10 Orcs and one Ogre for 12 rounds :)

The Orcs eventually moved out of the way so the Ogre could perform a grab action on me.  At that point everything went to hell but it was an epic feeling at the end of the fight for everyone to scrape through with less than 10 HP and avoid a TPK.

Just commenting on how unbelievably awesome Dodge is for giving disadvantage when fighting multiple enemies.

I love books and +Brandon Sanderson has spoken.

Share this photo in the next 24 hours (starting July 7, 2014, 23:53 GMT) for a chance to win this ebook bundle! Contest details below.

The Cosmic SciFi Bundle at http://StoryBundle.com/SciFi is available only until Wednesday night. It includes works by Anne McCaffrey and Jody Lynn Nye, Frank Herbert, Jay Lake and Ken Scholes, Michael A. Stackpole, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Mike Resnick, Kevin J. Anderson and Doug Beason, and Peter J. Wacks, along with me, Brandon Sanderson. This is a great lineup, and in the tradition of bundles like this, you can name your price and receive six of these ebooks, and if you pay more than $12 you receive the first six as well as Legion, Crisis on Doona, and Perfectly Invisible. All are DRM-free. You can also decide what the split should be between the authors and the Storybundle organizers, and you can optionally pick how much should go to the Clayton Memorial Medical Fund, the preferred charity chosen by Jay Lake before he passed away on June 1st after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Please do note that my novella Legion is the only part of the bundle that can’t be included worldwide for licensing reasons—it’s not in the bundle if you buy it from the UK or Commonwealth/former Commonwealth countries (except for Canada, where it is included in the bundle). I apologize for throwing this wrench into things, but my UK publisher has exclusive distribution rights in those countries.

I have 5 download codes to give away here on Google+. So let’s do a little contest—just hit the Share button (with the ➦ arrow) on this picture (at the original URL: https://plus.google.com/+BrandSanderson/posts/W1CBtaB4Ap3 ) and say why you like this bundle or any of my books, mark your share as Public, and you’re entered. At the end of 24 hours from when I posted this, we’ll give away download codes to the posts with the top 2 most Likes, and the other 3 winners will be selected randomly from valid entrants.

Who can enter? Anyone who is geographically able to include Legion in downloading from StoryBundle. If you’re not sure whether your country counts as a UK/Commonwealth/former Commonwealth country, go to StoryBundle.com and click on the cover image for Legion; if you’re in one of those countries the page will display a warning.

--------------

Legion is a fast-paced, witty, and supremely fun thriller with a psychological bent.

Stephen Leeds is perfectly sane. It’s his hallucinations who are mad.

A genius of unrivaled aptitude, Stephen can learn any new skill, vocation, or art in a matter of hours. However, to contain all of this, his mind creates hallucinatory people—Stephen calls them aspects—to hold and manifest the information. Wherever he goes, he is joined by a team of imaginary experts to give advice, interpretation, and explanation. He uses them to solve problems . . . for a price.

His brain is getting a little crowded, however, and the aspects have a tendency of taking on lives of their own. When a company hires him to recover stolen property—a camera that can allegedly take pictures of the past—Stephen finds himself in an adventure crossing oceans and fighting terrorists. What he discovers may upend the foundation of three major world religions—and, perhaps, give him a vital clue into the true nature of his aspects.

--------------

Later this year Subterranean Press will be releasing a limited edition hardcover of Legion‘s sequel, Legion: Skin Deep, which you can preorder here: http://subterraneanpress.com/store/product_detail/legion_skin_deep and read a preview of here: http://brandonsanderson.com/legion-skin-deep If you haven’t read the original Legion, this new bundle is a great way to whet your appetite and get ready for the sequel.

This is huge!  Just wanted to say publically thanks Microsoft.
Making the entire .NET Core development stack open source this week with plans to do the same with the rest of the .NET Core Runtime and framework in the coming months, was a "huge" move by Microsoft, according to Linux Foundation Jim Zemlin.

Read it! This book is only $2.99 for the E-Book from the Google Play Store.

Amazing book, and in the top 10 for highest rated Epic Fantasy books on Amazon.

I'm sorry but I'm not going to buy pizza from Papa John's anymore.

John Schnatter aka "Papa" a Centi-Millionaire and supporter of Mitt Romney made a statement the other day regarding the Affordable Healthcare act.

Basically saying that it would raise the costs of doing business.

He mentioned that since the Affordable Healthcare act is only required for workers who work over 30 hours a week the chain will probably cut the hours workers get so they can't get insurance.

Forbes did the analysis and figured out that Papa Johns would just have raise the price of a pizza less than 5 cents to cover the cost of providing healthcare to it's employees.

Rather than charge consumers 5 cents more it would rather screw over it's employees.

It just doesn't seem right when this guy is rich as hell that he has no concern over his employees.

This article breaks down the exact details:

It's that time of year, and it doesn't matter which political party your associated with it's very important to vote.

Google has been nice enough to give you alot of information regarding which candidates are available to vote for in your region, and links to all their info.

https://www.google.com/elections/ed/us/vote

This site will tell you the candidates for:

-President
-US Senator
-House of Representatives
-Lt. Governor
-Governor
-Treasurer
-Attorney General
-Secretary of State
-State Representative for your District
-State Supreme Court Judge

Be an informed voter.  Fact check your candidates and don't believe anything you see on TV.

This website is a great non partisan source of fact checking:  http://www.factcheck.org/

I agree "the feeling of insignificance should never be allowed to paralyze us".

I understand the issues with the EC, and I understand Chris's frustration but if you look at this link:

http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/electoral-map

It visually gives you an inkling of what's going on.

The states that are worth more electoral votes also have the largest populations.

So theoretically the numbers from the popular vote should be pretty close to the numbers from the electoral vote.  And for the most part this is true, I do remember it being an issue with Al Gore lost the Electoral vote in 2000 but won the popular vote.

Either way I think voting is important.  I personally will be taking my chances with Obama rather than Romney but to each their own.

I have been going every other week with my Daughter for the last several months as she is learning to be a better skater. I started coming to this skating rink about 2 years ago though. The skating rink itself is kept up fairly well. The Manager, old guy with white hair, is very nice and considerate. The staff which for the most part has been the same for the whole time I've been going is predominantly teenagers and very friendly. The place is almost always packed! You have your traditional food stand with Pizza, Hot Dogs, Pretzels, Candy, Soda, Water, Slushies. The bathrooms are horrible. They are cleaned, but a lot of non-functioning components. Doors don't close or close properly. Soap dispensers and water faucets aren't always working. The games and candy machines are pretty crappy. I really don't care, I go to skate not playing on games that are 15-20 years old. Overall it's very close to my home and my daughter loves it. It's pretty run down as a facility but the atmosphere and staff make it a good experience.

I live across the street and eat here quite often. I love the food and know alot of the staff from my frequent visits. I was disgusted by the conditions reported by Fox2. I have eaten there since and it was fine but I hope the cleanliness has improved. If you want better service and less wait avoid going on weekend evenings because it's always packed.

One of the smaller and more private parks in the area, generally used by Winchester Residents. I take my daughter here all the time and alot of kids from her school tend to walk here since it's within the neighborhood. Has functional restrooms though they lack doors to prevent others from walking in so make sure you have someone to prevent others from walking in. Has 3 parks with playground equipment, a basketball court which an also be used for skateboarding or biking, water fountain, and baseball field.

I have been going to Roy's for years now and have always been pleased with my service. Steve is a great manager and really looks out for his customers. Beware of the big guy, he's a bit grumpy sometimes but all of the other employees are great :)

Not a bad thing but the menu is fairly typical of a burger joint and pretty unexciting. The decor is unimpressive but the food is prepared fresh and is quite tasty and the restaurant is kept clean. They have changed management 2-3 times now since it's opened but I have never really had a bad experience with the employees. I go to this restaurant about once a month, good enough to keep me coming back :)
