These practical examples will demonstrate how to work with files including: reading, writing, changing permissions and timestamps, archiving, compressing, checksum hashing, downloading files over HTTP, buffers, scanners, and links. All examples here use the standard library.

The usual problems with archive extraction and not considering "what if there are files in a folder, but the folder is archived without write permission?" -- you need to grant yourself write, to extract, then go back and fix the permission afterwards.

Otherwise, not a bad summary.  But not great.  I'm beginning to think that the time is right for a "learn systems programming (using Go)" book.
