Student badging made easy.

I was working with a teacher who wanted to add badges to her online class. To make it work easily, I combined and modified two of +Alice Keeler's terrific badges templates to create a hybrid that accomplished the teacher's goal.

In a nutshell, using Google Sheets, the teacher is able to assign badges to individual students. Those badges are collected and appear on individual student sheets assigned via classroom.

Workflow:
The teacher creates the badges and assigns the levels into a master sheet. The teacher then pastes the student email addresses into the master sheet.

The teacher assigns a student badge sheet via classroom to each student.

Students select their email addresses in their individual sheets.

Working from the master sheet, the teacher is able to assign badges to any student. The student sheet references the teacher sheet, so those badges appear on the student sheet immediately.

Directions for reuse are in the "Directions" tab on the master sheet.

Last week, the research tool suddenly disappeared from Google #Doc and #Slides. This is viscerally upsetting to me (yes, I know, I'm a nerd). Today, I discovered that +Google for Education is asking for input about how the research tool was used.

Please take a minute to tell them how valuable it has been to your workflow.
