Specifically, for those that really care, it was due to some bug that occurs with chrome canary and the ios browser beta being involved in the same BigMarker session. Now that we have good test data I'm hoping they can fix it. I'll be attempting the Elixir Remote Meetup with BigMarker to see if I can gain any kind of reliability around it. I'll say that BigMarker makes both the chat and the Q&A lots nicer than we managed here, but in general if it's unusable none of that matters!

Love the comments on this post

The sinking, heavily nonwhite poor are actually learning the Iron Law of Redistributionism:  policies intended to 'help' the poor are invariably hijacked by a rentier class that fattens on the rising diversion of income.  Result: help never arrives, much wealth is destroyed, growth is strangled, and the poor get poorer. Welcome to Obamaland.

Holy crap the BMW i8 is gorgeous. Has anyone seen interior pictures?

Chef Thomas Keller, Roger Penske and Rick Hendrick Among the First to Take Delivery of the Revolutionary BMW i8 Plug-In Hybrid

Today, BMW delivered the first plug-in hybrid BMW i8 sport cars at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the world’s premier celebration of the automobile, in Carmel, Calif. In celebration of the revolutionary sports car made with carbon fiber, renowned Chef Thomas Keller is hosting an intimate dinner at the BMW Villa for a handful of the first owners of the BMW i8. In addition to hosting the special occasion, Chef Keller, who has set the standard within the hospitality industry with restaurants including Per Se in New York and French Laundry in Napa Valley, is joining the BMW i family after taking delivery of his BMW i8.

Among the first group receiving a BMW i8 is Roger Penske, Chairman of Penske Corporation, Penske Automotive Group and Team Penske, which operates race teams in both the NASCAR and IndyCar series. With a strong legacy in transportation services, Penske understands the significance of the plug-in sports car to the automotive industry. Rick Hendrick, Chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group, currently the second-largest privately held dealership group in the country, will also be taking delivery of a BMW i8 during Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Additionally, Hendrick is the owner of Hendrick Motorsports, fielding four teams competing in the premier NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

A tiny bit out of my price range, but a sweet ride. The gullwing doors make me think BMW is trying to copy Lamborghini.

Building a mobile app using Ionic, Angular, and the Ionic Playground http://isotope11.com/blog/building-a-mobile-app-using-ionic-angular-and-the-ionic-playground
Recently, the Ionic Team released the Ionic Playground for building apps in the browser. After receiving an email about it, I immediately had to use it. I already had a simple app in mind from a discussion in a Slack channel for our local tech community. One of the members had recently written a ...

This is why we can't have nice things: The ethically evil belief that anyone, or any organization, has any valid right to criminalize behavior that does not violate the rights of others.
"I doubt there has ever been a human culture, anywhere, anytime, that underestimates children's abilities more than we North Americans do today."

That's the problem with this world... People are just too arrogant and judgmental and just want to control other people.

If I had a fight with someone, even if he started it, and he ended up prone on the ground submitting to me, and I kicked him in the head after that, I would almost certainly end up in jail.  The police have a monopoly on violence, and they tend to get away with things private citizens wouldn't get away with.  This leads to a high incidence of 'above the law' syndrome.  I think it's a thing that's broken in many countries, including ours.

I've been stopped by the cops a single time.  I was roughed up for no reason.  The police officers lied about the officer that roughed me up, to protect him.  That's my only experience with the cops.  I have to assume it's representative.

Unbelievable customer service. Our son left his iPod touch on the table and the manager mailed it to us. He wouldn't even let us reimburse him. Just excellent people. The food and service was great as well. The waitress also was very attentive regarding my gluten allergy.
