We had some exciting times at our apartment tonight. A pipe belonging to the sprinkler system burst in our hallway resulting in a small water fall flowing over our front door. The alarms went off and my girls were just getting out of the tub and into their jammies.

We got everyone out and safe and the girls were very brave. Alathia saw the fire trucks and she says, "Ooohh I like the pretty lights.". Big thanks to our neighbors, Heather and Jacob for letting us watch Strawberry Shortcake and drink hot coco, while the water stopped flowing. Also thanks to Youngki and Boyeon Debbie, for letting us use their house if we needed to. Which hopefully we don't! Also thanks to Alex Scantlin for being and awesome security guy during and actual crisis (most of the time it is pretty slow)!

We had some excitement, but everything ended pretty well.

QUOTE (about mountains) "A mountain is a strange and awful thing...To me they are beautiful terrors... They are portions of the heart of the earth that have escaped from the dungeon down below, and rushed up and out. For the heart of the earth is a great wallowing mass, not of blood, as in the hearts of men and animals, but of glowing hot, melted metals and stones. And as our hearts keep us alive, so that great lump of heat keeps the earth alive: it is a huge power of buried sunlight—that is what it is. --- George MacDonald, "The Princess And The Curdie" http://ow.ly/eEasY

Inciteful article on Fifty Shades of Grey and the objectifying of women.

QUOTE: "Christian Grey, the twerp of this sorry business, is way too beautiful for her, and his beauty justifies however he may want to hurt her. She is unworthy of the perfect one -- that man over there with straight teeth and crooked desires. If a man hurts you, then what did you expect? Isn't he worth it? And did you deserve any different?"

Writing the outline for Sunday's sermon.  Are there any benefits of the Christian mission?  There is one --- JOY!

Preaching this morning from John 17:24-26.  This passage lays bare the desires of Jesus.  It shows us his very mission!
