Apple provides a site to check Activation Lock status on that 2nd-hand iOS device you just bought (from that shady character in the Taco Bell parking lot).

Buyers of second hand iPhones can now more easily check that the previous owner still doesn't have control over the device.

It does but it's wifi only. But as long as it eventually checks in, same features apply. Mine is registered. Same goes for wifi-only ipads too.

Dear +Google, please give us an option to either block hangout requests from specific G+ user and groups we don't follow or give us an option to not receive hangout notifications from them.

Or have you already given up on G+ and just not announced it?

I just looked through the settings for hangouts and there wasn't one that specifically addressed what I wanted. For "everyone else" your only options are "send request" or "hang out with you". There's no block option.

Are you serious about IT security, live in the Twin Cities, and don't want to (or can't) travel? I can highly recommend SANS SEC401 lead by +Matthew J. Harmon. Well worth the time and expense.

I want the SWLRT line to happen. But, I think the local press has sorely missed out on report WHY St. Louis Park is against the freight rail re-route. If you want to know what's really going on, read this opinion piece published in the STrib by the heads of "Safety In the Park".

It lays out all of the issues we have with the re-route option.

With a number of key decisions and votes approaching on the Southwest light-rail line and the accompanying question of freight rail, it’s important for all parties to understand the position of Safety in the Park and many St

Snapchat iOS app flaw can be used to send 1000s of spam and/or crash an individual iOS device. Snapchat responds by blocking account used to demo flaw (i.e., burying head in sand).

Summary: Snapchat bug could lead to mass spam campaign or denial of service attacks on any iPhone.

Back at work after attending a local, mentor-led version of +SANS Institute's SEC464. Taught by +Matthew J. Harmon.

I learned much. The to-do list at work also got much longer. But, that's the way it goes. No rest for the wicked.

Thanks for the great class, I'm glad you learned much and hopefully the material helps you clear out that TODO list.

Recognizing the severity of this Internet Explorer Zero-day flaw, Microsoft is issuing an out-of-band update today that also includes fixes for versions of IE that only ran under XP.

My first visit to the "new" facility (I was previously a Feldmann Nissan customer). Very nice and very clean. I was greeted warmly by everyone I encountered. I will return in the future.
