All Your Bass R Belong To Us
Recorded last year, 1 week after I first picked up a bass.  It is a bass duet recorded with a TASCAM DP-006 Pocketstudio using its internal mics.  The TASCAM was mounted on a short tripod and pointed at my Fender Rumble 75 amp.  No stomp box was used - the phase shift was added in post production using Adobe Audition.

Frozen Funk
This was a very informal recording made with a TASCAM DR-05 portable recorder.  It features a Rickenbacker 4003 connected to a Zoom B3 set to patch F5: pino. The Zoom was also generating a drum track and was connected to a Fender Rumble 75.

Wah-Sabi Blues
This was one of my first attempts at recording a bass track using a Rickenbacker 4003 connected to a Zoom B3 Bass Effects & Amp Simulator pedal via USB.  The B3 was also used to generate the drum track.  I decided to go back and add some slide guitar and wah using my Les Paul and Boss V-Wah pedal.  The LP was recorded using the USB interface of a Fender Mustang III amp.  The guitar part is only so-so, since I was trying to ad lib a lead part while in slide tuning.  Recorded last November.

Lyrics are overrated...sometimes music is just music.
Introduction
As a creative outlet, I enjoy writing and recording my own guitar compositions. My technique may be weird, but that is because I am self-taught.  I don't like performing that much, which is why I no longer play in a band. I treat each song as a work of art - once it is done, I move on and write something else. Once a song has been recorded, with a few exceptions, I rarely play it again on my guitar.  You can hear my recordings at www.JosephREllis.com
